I'm out of the loop.  I know who he is obviously, but what exactly is his platform for this?  Are people just paying him to be involved because he's charismatic?

the dude just loves college wrestling. He wrestled for Oregon. From his NWHOF bio:

Chael Sonnen was an All-American at 190 pounds for the University of Oregon in 1998 and was a two-time Pac-10 conference runner-up. He also had a successful career in Greco-Roman wrestling, winning University National titles in 1999 and 2000 at 187.25 pounds.

Also I know folks on Twitter were mostly trolling when they were making fun of Iowa’s room, but I kinda agree that it seems dull for being brand new.  They’re pretty much just wrestling in a warehouse.

This right here. It always cracks me up that he makes such dumb mistakes sometimes, for instance he made an entire video how Marcus Blaze is the best high school wrestler ever or something along those lines... Said his name about 100 times in the video and every single time said "MARCUS BAZE" lmao.

That's Chael's schtick. It's hilarious. He does it to multiple people. Probably gets a ton of engagement from it from people commenting. Did it to Crookham's name on Bo Nickal's podcast. Butchered Lilledahl's name as well.

He's known for being extremely bad pronouncing names.  Half the time, I think it is on purpose.  Notable ones that he repeatedly butchers are : Kyle Snyder and Alex Pereira.

No matter what you think of his online and media presence, I will tell you the dude is a great guy personally. I spent time with him and he was a class act. Great supporter of college wrestling.

For those of us who are Chael fans I am still torn up about how the UFC cheated him out of a title.  Them not explaining that tapping ended the bout & not the round is still a top 5 scandal.

I think if Chael posted he would just post as himself, but he's got enough people to talk wrestling with and most of them are former or current wrestlers

I don't see the appeal. His channel is just him leading up saying something interesting and the video just ends.

He also calls Christian Pyles, "Pile" all the time which is pretty funny, and CP even laughs about it.
