Now we know why DT was a big advocate for this...

Lol.  Everyone looking out for themselves and no one with the authority to make everyone do anything.  I suspect this format change will not fix the problems with the national duals.

Well apparently not an advocate, but more of a soft announcement

Carl says no!

But it can still be a great event without him.

With a potential payout of $200,000 I wouldn't be surprised if Cael changes his mind. Makes it well worth it for his program.

Based on Cael’s interview answer, sounds like he was already aware of the Oklahoma event, but didn’t seem interested.  Guess it’s possible he wasn’t aware of the payout.

Meh.  What's that, 1/5 of a Bassett?

True.lol But imagine (if it's possible, idk) if you could give that prize money to your athletes. Cael come's into the practice room in July "Hey everyone we're going to go down to Tulsa, OK wrestle 4-5x, beat everyone by 20+ and you're going to make 20k. You guys up for that?"

Yeah doesn't even get you half a Davino much less a working interest in a Bassett.

But puts fuel in the jet for travel.  ✈️

Sure you don't need every team to make a great event but it really helps if you have the best team/wrestlers.

Right now, CKLV is the best in-season individual tournament and it typically occurs first weekend of December (2 weeks after the proposed National Duals Invite).    Curious if teams will go to both or choose one over the other.    CKLV could also move dates.

What happens when a Big ten team is crowned the National duals Champion in November.  Then possibly loses three times in the Big ten league?   Kinda things that would detract from a November National Duals Champion Team

Yea, but if he would turn down $200k that could go to his program/athletes to prove a point, that's just stupid. And tells me that there's too much money in college sports as it is...

Pretty sure Penn State could hold a dual at Bryce Jordan and raise more than $200K. Cael wouldn't be turning down the money that way.
