Or mature earlier/max out their ability relevant to athleticism in high school. Once guys get into college rooms and continue to mature and develop, they can catch and surpass guys that may have been winning in high school.

Apparently, the uniform always consists of a hoodie.  There are a (very) few stylish wrestling coaches, but even fewer wrestling fans with a sense of style.   Is the goal of the hoodie to mask a beer belly?

You're arguing that the top wrestler should just be able to pull the ankle for more than 5 seconds? How is that advancing the position? You don't need more than 5 seconds if you're trying to use it for a breakdown.
