Has anything been reported on what is going on with Kaleb Larkin? Is he expected to compete this year? Are him and his brother staying at ASU?

His brother was also committed to ASU but he is not enrolled Kaleb took a gap year so I assume hes taking the same. The younger one was honestly much better in high school so if he makes a similar jump to Kaleb in college watch out. As for what school they will attend I am not sure but assuming they are a package deal I expect someone to gets 6-8 AA plaques and maybe a title or two between the two of them.

The brothers are very good. It will be interesting to see what happens with them. They seem to both march to the beat of their own drum so I wonder if there is a non-zero chance that they just focus on wrestling freestyle and forgo college altogether?

Chancho:  Nacho! Where are you going?

Nacho:  There is no place for me in this world. I don't belong out there, and I don't belong in here. So I'm going out into the Wilderness. Probably, to die.

Chancho:  Well, you might need this

[Gives Nacho the sword]

Chancho:  My mother gave it to me before she died. It was her lucky machete. You can have it.

Nacho:  I hope to see you again little Chancho. Maybe in the next life.

I thought I saw someone, maybe Willie, say Kaleb is injured and potentially out for the year. IIIRC someone said Kyler is undergoing some kind of hip surgery and that is why he is taking the gap year.

Must be some kind of family genetic issue then because Kaleb had hip surgery when he took his gap year.

By gap years do you mean redshirts or they're literally unenrolling from school for the year?

Unenrolled for a year after high school

Kaleb was going to start and then got hurt early on. it sounded like he was most likely out for the season with a prayer for him to come back late.

haven't checked in on the situation in a while though.

Thanks Willie. Is the plan for the brothers to stay put at ASU even with the closing of Sunkist Kids?

That's a legit question.... can they progress and reach their goals at ASU? Chlebove, Vasquez and Schultz all seemed to have taken a step. back. Ruiz has looked good and Figs can be a wild card. Recruiting has been down and it doesn't help that they had a major de-commitment.

Their dad started his own RTC. Artreus or some other dumb name like that. Not sure how its going.

Edit. I lied. Eric Larkin is not involved. Also i spelled it wrong. Its Atreus. Still a dumb name.

His dad founded and coaches at Valiant Prep in Phoenix. He is not listed as a coach at Artreus, but he is probably involved in some capacity.  The coaches are basically the ASU coaches and it's held at ASU. Kaleb wrestles for Artreus along with ASU guys like Figs, Schultz, etc. It would be hard to pry them away from ASU with Larkin's history, Valiant being just down the road, etc. But at the same token, is it the best place to reach their goals? Time will tell.

That is all correct. I immeadiately fact checked myself and edited my post but I appreciate you presenting the information.

Also flo has a series on Valiant which is a fun watch called "Eloy Boys". One of the coaches is like the mumble mouth guy from "The Waterboy" or "Joe Dirt". Off topic but worth a watch for anyone who hasnt seen it.

Cool... I will have to take a look. Larkin has done a great job at Valiant.

To call Figs a wildcard is absurd. He was undefeated in a year they have the nod to Courtney in the postseason. He won the nation championship in his second year. Hodge trophy contention in year 3.
