I can understand him not wanting to make the cut back down to 149 where he was an NCAA finalist, but he looks a little small at 165 to me.  157 seems to be an easier weight this year especially with Teemer hurt. What is stopping Sasso from going 157?

I believe he's trying to rebuild and cutting weight is counter productive to that. No idea what he weighs but if he's the best at the weight and Paddy is the best 57 not sure what else there is to do...

He discussed it in one of his interviews, he’s able to wrestle but is still healing in some ways.

Cutting weight is too leg intensive, and would run the risk of unwinding or limiting his broader recovery.

I suspect he may make a decision after Christmas.  There are a lot of moving parts with Ohio State's lineup due to injuries and delayed wrestle offs.

Gallagher had a pretty good CKLV which makes me think, Gallagher might be the better option at 157.  Cannon just beat Chittum so there could be a pending wrestle off with Gallagher and Cannon.

I imagine that Paddy is better than Sasso at this point in time and Sasso is at 165 to make the lineup.

I like Sasso's chances better at 157, too. 165 seems much more brutal. I'm sure he's got his hands full re-regaining his old muscle memory and technique without worrying about cutting weight, thoguh.

We sure he can beat Gallagher out for the spot? I'm not dogging on Sasso in any way. Rooting for him as much as the next guy. But let's be honest, his best win is Derek Fields (who's ranked #38 by WS) and he has not looked like his old self at any point this season.

Is Paddy coming up to 65? I'm sure Sasso beats the other 65's in the room...

MPhillips - who is the best 57 in the room and who is the best 65 in the room according to your sources?  I am not sure if I could say the best 125, 133, 157 and 165 weights are.  I think for sure 141, 149, 197 and 285 are crystal clear,  174 I have for Carson and 184 would be Rocco if he was wrestling - I think?

I know you didn't ask me, but I'm also curious in MPhil's answer.

Vinny Kilkeary and Brendan McCrone: great problem to have - both have AA potential.  Kilkeary seems to be on trajectory for lifelong 125 while McCrone seems to have a bit more length on him with a possibility to eventually go 133.

133: Davino and Bouzakis are both studs, but may as well use the redshirt while you got it if Davino is okay with that

157: I think Gallagher is fighting for his life to maintain the spot but he's doing well so far.  Cannon is biting at his heels.

165: I like watching Sammy because of the comeback story, but it wouldn't surprise me if he loses to Hepner in his current state

I don't know anything Brother. I just don't believe they have a 65 to beat Sasso. No shade to Hepner or the others. I believe Paddy if healthy has 57. I really like Cannon but I had the same feeling for Geog and Hepner a couple seasons ago.

McCrone and Bouzakis have wrestled well and I have to believe the spots are theirs. I like Kilkeary and Davino is RS'ing. I still believe Rogotzke is gonna RS (Shumate wrestled well at CKLV) but I seem to be alone in that thinking. Kharch is on an island at 74.  If I knew anything I'd be rich...

He is superstitious.

Already injured & still hurting he knows that 1+5+7 + 13.

13 is an unlucky number.

He is staying away from it.
