He’s chose Okie St. Good luck to him but was hoping he’d be a Tiger.

Does he look to be a 141 or 149lber?

He said in the interview that he and coach Taylor have talked about which weight, but with him being only a Jr nothing is in stone, but he did say that it will be one of those two. He said he would need to fill out more to get to 149.

His graphic lists him as 149/157.  Looks like a 149 to me.

They have 4 guys in '25 class that are all number 1 or close to it at their weight, that are all middle weights,,,Vega 141/149, Robideau 149/157, Routledge 157, Lockett 165/174.  Plus, Guerrero around there and now Wolbert.  Forrest and Bassett just visited, but even if they go somewhere else, someone pretty good is going to be left out.

Taylor taking the PSU route, pack in the recruits and the lineup works itself out. May the best man win. Those that are backups stay and get better or transfer.

Agree with your point. But what's interesting is that PSU really hasn't had many really elite guys transfer out due to lineup issues. Suriano transferred out but that wasn't due to lineup issues. Beard would be the only one I can really point to who was elite (AA or better) that transferred out. Barraclough may join him this year. Negron, Nevills, Brandon Meredith, and Verkleeren all transferred out but were far from elite.

In fact seems to be the opposite, guys want to transfer in.

That’s also a good point. About those wanting to come over leaving. We’ll see how it plays out, all we can do. I would think to some of these guys just being in the room is enough, meaning they know they are probably room guys with an outside shot to start. Some have after college wrestling aspirations and just like PSU, OLY and world medals are more important.

My fear now, is the AWA pipeline to Mizzou is drying up. Wolbert, Wyatt Dachteu, Millard etc are going elsewhere. The addition of Taylor at OSU opens yet another option. We still got Sinclair and I couldn’t be happier, but selfishly I want them all 😆

Wolbert will be 33-49 in college. He’ll happily go wherever is needed for the team.  He’s wrestling 44 this HS season with very little weight cut.

Yeah, that's going to change. Guys like Duke aren't waiting 3 years to maybe crack the lineup.

Henckel, Cunningham, Sealey these are guys who have a lot of talent. I mean, Cunningham is probably sticking around with his Dad and Brother, but guys LIKE that. One of Mirasola/Ryder won't be starting most likely and they're studs.

It hasn't been this packed for a while. It really went to another level when you had Mesenbrink transfer in, the Mirasola twins go there and then Starocci coming back.

Barraclough and Nevills are really tough kids, but probably not as talented as the depth they've got coming in or already in.

I’m really hoping that Duke and Cunningham take a GS plus a RS. Wrestle freestyle for NLWC for a year and let some weight(s) clear out.

Another elite Wisconsin kid that the Badgers can't convince to stay. I can't wait until Bozo is gone and we get a real coach that can keep elite wrestlers in Wisconsin.

Maybe they don't like living in Wisconsin.

It'd make sense. Cunningham just lost to another kid that's headed there.

I think PJ Duke could be a contender to win 4 Titles. At least as much as anyone is. But yeah, he's got guys who'll have won 2 or 3 ahead of him.

Gotta imagine Duke is ready to go win a title right now. Hard to shelf a guy like that for two years.

A lot can change in two years, especially if they’re still going in the room and competing.  The old saying “a bird in the hand”…

Yeah, but...what happens when your hands are full?

A lot can happen in two years. Unless you're worried about regression/injury, how the hell do you squeeze Duke into that lineup? This is already assumnig Facundo is out and we saw him beat Haines soundly, but he's lost to Kasak.

So Duke comes in, takes a RS, he's still bumping up against Kasak, Mesnbrink, Haines(to say nothing of several others who you'd think would be AA caliber Wrestlers based on past accomplishments).

So...what do you do?

The PSU fan obviously likes the Greyshirt, Redshirt, and then 4 years...but if you're Duke, do you want to wait a couple more years?

When you say ready to win, we all understand you're saying ready to compete for a title, but...can he beat Kasak or Mesnbrink? Perhaps. He'll likely be able to compete with any and of them. So he makes plenty of sense to be one of those guys to transfer out.

But Okie St...he builds up, goes '74, slides in for Hamiti? Or, better yet(for team races) Ohio State. They've got a whole lot of talent and him sliding in at '65 there?
