This stuff or stuff like it was already posted above a dozen times.   We get it.  He has contracts with the gov.

I’ll take this all day vs the shyte show the last 4 years.

Then why did you bring it up?

I said you were being dramatic with the comment I’m too lazy to look up.  Musk is like the most worst candidate for a job like this in the history of the planet.  You worded it better.  I thought you were and or are being a drama queen about it.

Unclear on this.

It is an outside group auditing wasteful spending.   If that needs government oversight ok.   Anybody can do this, the difference will be they will probably have access to info that the normal Joe doesn't.   They might see more areas that are wasteful than otherwise.   I'm still not really clear on why this whole thing is a BAD idea.   If someone really wants to get to the bottom of this topic, now is a good time.  Transparency is "guaranteed" as well as a suggestion box of sorts.   So everyone should be able to see what is going on and if Musk and Vivek are holding on to wasteful spending that helps them personally.  To me this is the first time this has been done in such a serious and open manner.  I think that is a good thing.   And only Congress can make the suggested changes to spending as I understand it.

I had to stop when you said transparency is guaranteed. This is a Trump move we’re talking about. And don’t even start with TDS nonsense. His track record speaks for itself.

That comes from the Trump playbook. Accuse others of what you are guilty of.

Being on the other team for 4 years stinks hmmm?

what I do find slightly annoying is the press will now start doing their job…. Criticizing the republican press secretary for not answering questions and digging into stuff and all that.   Y’all won’t notice the diff tho.

Without accountability, managers ensure the money is gone to secure next year's cash flow. With accountability and focus, it is remarkable how much money can be saved. In a big company, simply reclaiming unused software licenses can save millions. At home, buying in bulk and home cooked meals saves a tremendous amount.  You fix what you focus on.

Yes that brings up another area of inefficiency, the end of fiscal year money.  You see it it government agency, public schools even within decisions of public traded companies.  If they don't spend the money by eofy then they won't be allocated as much next year.  Good time to buy furniture, printers or dole out some small project grants.  If you are good at grant writing this can be easy money.  Basically they are being penalized for being efficient, hence one more reason why we shouldn't expect efficiency in government.

hmmmmm   Did someone somehow edit my post ?

I’ve done all 3 of the major moves.  I bet this is part of the stuff Elon shut down at twitter

we often would over estimate projects we just didn’t want to do.  (Fortune 50 company)

we sometimes spent the remainder of our budget end of year on software we didn’t need…. One time 8 figures worth.   Same fortune 50 company

in sales we gobble up free software deals in companies q4… similar to the second one but on the receiving end not the giving end.   This was a diff fortune 50 company and a few startups.

our gov sales team always have some crazy stories about the corruption.

"We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don't need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting," DOGE wrote.

"If that's you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants."

This is the chance for all you supporters of Musk for this job to stand up and be counted. Surely you want to spend 80+ hours per week working for him and doing whatever it takes to rid the world of goat yoga studies and $50 bolts. I will happily be your reference.

Unless you do not think you are in the top 1%.

where did i suggest 'i discovered it,' bird brain?

When you asked "do you have any idea..."

90%+ of population knows full well that government spending is full of waste, and has been for well over five decades. Yes, yes, we all know that already. We've know it our entire lifetime.

Reminding us of something we have all known for decades is a bird brain move - maybe look in the mirror.

you're trying too hard. you admitted there's inefficiency, they set up an efficiency department, and you're crying like a B.

You're just being silly now.

Setting up yet another expensive department to research having too many expensive departments - staffed with folks that have a conflict of interest, who will obviously profit significantly from this new department?

More government. More rules. Adding rich guys to the fat with their own agenda won't cut the fat. But it will make those guys richer. (And whatever they cut, it is almost guaranteed to make low income folks even less well off. Remember when Trump decided it was a good idea to cut the tiny meals-on-wheels expenditure?)

You think this is a good idea? Then you've been hornswoggled.

that its Elon is a secondary topic.

1) They are starting a Department of efficiency

and

2) You don't like who is leading that department

many of you nitwits are suggesting the department is unnecessary at all despite obvious incompetence, waste, and corruption for years, even self reported like in the above link

on point 2

there are infinite avenues of inquiry into government waste. being utterly concerned with the 5 instances where Elon may have a conflict of interest is either sheer stupidity or simple stubbornness

Misinformation is a tremendously huge problem in the US (and in other countries as well.)

Remember when the Biden administration announced they were going to create an anti-misinformation group to combat misinformation?

Fox News and the Republicans (in that order) went absolutely nuts against the idea.

They didn't like misinformation either, but they absolutely couldn't accept the Democrats in charge of fixing it.

Do you see all the parallels here, and there are many, bird brain?

So to understand correctly, Vak has no objection to a DOGE type group trying to root out wasteful and inefficient spending.   Vak just doesn't want Musk or Vivek at the head.

Is that correct?

mspart

What exactly is it that you think a "DOGE type group" is?\

Do you think Vivek and Musk should be assigned to the already existing department?  I somewhat agree with the duplication of departments, if true, is wasteful unless one of them is going to go away.  I do not understand the visceral reaction to Vivek and Musk running the department...seems like good choices to me.  If your concern is over conflict of interest, well, don't we have a department in the government to oversee that??  Wouldn't they be able to make that call?

Hilarious!

Now that an efficiency department has been proposed...

We'll need another department in the government to oversee this new department.

Classic Bigbrog. Dim as a 2w bulb. Can't make it up.
