In the graphic that his school released, it listed Penn State, Purdue, and Ohio State as the schools he is considering.

Hoping for Purdue, to spread the wealth around, but have a strong feeling it will be Penn State.  He actually fits in the lineup there at a weight they aren't 2-3 deep with top kids.

Per Pat Mineo, FloWrestling posted an article leaking that he's going to Penn State. Bummer.

I dunno Vak, Ohio State hasn't done too bad in lightweight recruiting.  In fact that's part of the problem with Blaze going there, as you already have uber-recruits Davino and Bouzakis at 133, plus Mendez at 141. 

PSU pretty thin at '33/41 next year. Bartlett gone. Maybe Nagao or Davis can go up (or Davis redshirts), but I'm guessing Blaze could step right in at '33/41. 

If I'm Iowa, I'm hoping PSU gets Blaze, as it opens the door for Jax.

If Jax goes anywhere besides Okie State I'll be flabbergasted, even with the weird recruitment tactics.  I'd love to be wrong and pull him and Bo (and Melvin and Keegan) into the Iowa Vortex!  I think Bo and Iowa are a perfect fit, in particular, for Bo's goals.

You are spot-on, really.  The guy's style is very 'Iowa Style' from an optics point of view.

On the positive side from a Purdue perspective, the fact that he felt enough of a sentimental connection to honor them by keeping them in the final 3 means that his brother loves Purdue. It says something, even though we knew the final result wouldn't be with them. 

With that positive side mentioned, I honestly feel like dragging along the sentimental choice into the final couple schools for a big recruit like this is unnecessary and accidentally wastes their time, emotions, and resources. Like acknowledge them with a visit, thank them, and then just be honest with yourself to include the schools you're really looking at. Like with Bo Bassett continuing to include hometown Pitt-Johnstown in his update list. Come on. Unless he's privately told them he's not really considering them, but wants to prop them up, he should definitely drop them from his list sooner than later in his updates. Just be honest.

What are Bo's goals....go grind so hard that you are worse as a senior than you were as a freshman, and your body is so broken you retire by 25.  Iowa way is over......who was the last Iowa wrestler that was actually better as senior than they were as a freshman/sophomore.   Tom and Terry need to retire and let a new coach come in and change up the tactics.  They break their wrestlers.

I thought the "Iowa style" was to have your guys work and toil their whole career, getting better and climbing the ladder until they are finally top 10 as a senior and ready to make a run at a high AA finish, only to drop some NIL $ to poach the #1 guy from another team, forcing the homegrown guy to transfer out.

Good call on Blaze.  I know everyone says Okie State for Jax but honestly I'm not sure why.  What's the connection everyone sees that I don't?  To be fair, in the Flo recruitment vids it did seem like Bo and Jax were most eagerly anticipating hearing from PSU and Okie St, but I assumed that was just because PSU is #1 and DT has all the hype.  If anything I figured PSU had the edge, but not so much now with Luke/Blaze.

Not gonna disagree about Bo and Iowa. Hate to admit it, but there's a fit there. Not that Brands + company have a leg up on anyone in helping him develop, but I do think his style would be appreciated as much or more in Iowa City than anywhere else, and his following would shoot up. That makes it as a good a platform as any for his media savvy and inclination toward self-promotion (and I don't mean that disparagingly). That, in turn, would be a great way for Iowa to rebuild it's brand, which (to me) was left in limbo since Spencer left, and has probably eroded a bit with the recent transfers, giving it a "free agent" feel.  And let's face it, if you're going to have 3 brothers on your roster, you'll sleep way easier at night if their last name is Bassett/Miller than Ferrari.  Brands would be wise to go after Bo with the same gusto that he went after Spencer. Iowa's leg up on other schools is what they can offer Bo's non-wrestling goals.

You shouldn't bring up the knee injuries suffered by Carter, Kerk, Nolf, SVN and company.  That's not a fair reflection of the fun they have at PSU.

Jax has trained there multiple times.  Has a good relationship with Fix and they train together.  Jax is sometimes cornered by Zo (OSU/RTC coach).  I think Jax also had a relationship with the departed Coleman Scott, probably dating back to when they both lived in NC.
