Anyone know what teams or wrestlers are registered or expected?   Could not find it on the webpage or flo (who apparently will stream it).

Literally two posts above this (at the time of this writing) is a thread by SHP listing the events for this week; included in that list is the set of teams for this tournament.

Quite a list of teams - is this the tourney where they have round robins rather than full brackets?

Yes! It's a pretty funky, exciting format. The ILLINI have always wrestled in other tournaments, so this'll be a new experience. We've got a preview up here. If they put all the heavy hitters in one round-robin bracket, it could look something like this:

#25 RAMAZAN ATTASAUOV vs. #4 Jakob Camacho (NC State); #8 Greg Diakomiholis (Cornell); #18 Max Gallagher (Penn); #2 Anthony Noto (Lockhaven); #23 Nick Babin (Pitt); #26 Sheldon Seymour (Lehigh)

#6 LUCAS BYRD vs. #1 Ryan Crookham (Lehigh), #14 Brett Ungar (Cornell); #28 Ryan Miller (Penn); #34 Gable Strickland (Lockhaven)

#33 DANNY PUCINO vs. #7 Kai Orine (NC State); #15 Vince Cornella (Cornell); #14 CJ Composto (Penn); #12 Wyatt Henson (Lockhaven)

#9 KANNON WEBSTER vs. #14 Ethan Fernandez (Cornell); #17 Kelvin Griffin (Lehigh); #31 Kelly Dunnigan (Penn); #41 Nick Stonecheck (Lockhaven)

#30 JASON KRAISSER vs. #1 Meyer Shapiro (Cornell); #7 Ed Scott (NC State); #20 Jude Swisher (Penn); #35 Nick Stampoulos (Lockhaven)

#44 BRAEDEN SCOLES vs. #5 Julian Ramirez (Cornell); #57 Kaya Sement (Penn); #71 Caden Dobbins (Lockhaven)

#15 DANNY BRAUNAGEL vs. #180 Simon Ruiz (Cornell); #10 Nick Incontrera (Penn); #28 Luca Augustine (Pitt); #66 Tyler Stoltzfus (Lockhaven)

#5 EDMOND RUTH vs. #7 Chris Foca (Cornell); #12 Dylan Fishback (NC State); #31 Maximus Hale (Penn); #57 Colin Fegley (Lockhaven)

#8 ZAC BRAUNAGEL vs. #7 Michael Beard; #12 Mac Stout (Pitt); (Lehigh); #147 Mikey Dellagatta (Cornell); #27 Christian Knop (NC State); #36 Martin Cosgrove (Penn); #147 Tucker Hogan (Lockhaven)

#16 LUKE LUFFMAN vs. #6 Nathan Taylor (Lehigh); #8 Isaac Trumble (NC State); #14 Dayton Pitzer (Pitt); #36 Ashton Davis (Cornell); #113 Matt Cruise (Penn); #114 Ethan Miller (Lockhaven)

Are y'all even ready for Byrd vs. Crookham? What about Ruth vs. Foca? Zac Braunagel against Michael Beard? Luke Luffman against Isaac Trumble?

They all have histories together. Byrd beat Crookham 4-3 in the 2018 Ironman, Edmond lost to Chris Foca twice, but that was years ago. The Brawlnagel beat Beard by one point at the Big Dance a couple years ago, and Trumble beat Luuuke 1-0 in last year's Midland's Final. So excite!

Should be some great matchups!   I hear tix are hard to get.

A few notes:  I think Noto was just up at 133 - if memory serves.  For Penn, at HWT Pardo, a freshman, emerged from wrestle offs.  Also, Almyeda dec. Miller at 133.  Did not see Sement or Cosgrove in action last week - uncertain if they are going.

Thanks for this!

Just from an ILLINI perspective, there are tons of great matchups. But with all those teams competing, I expect some great matches between those other teams as well.

As a point of clarification, after the first dual, I changed the Wrestlestat.com rating for the ILLINI wrestlers, but I didn't change the ratings for the other guys. Too much work, and I don't get paid enough ($0) to do that. But the ELO ratings should be close.

Luke Luffman against Isaac Trumble?

I'll take the guy who made the OTT finals and it won't be pretty.

The Byrd who wrestles this weekend won't be the same guy in March when he's back in shape.

Who knows which Ruth shows up, hopefully the good one.

Meyer Shapiro unanimous MOW if he competes.

I'll take

Trumble.

Byrd.

Ruth.

Shapiro. Does Ed Scott keep it close?

Isn't this the case where the coaches get together and decide who wants to wrestle whom, and they put together the pools accordingly?  Don't expect some of the top matches you want to see to actually occur.

If Byrd beats Crookham again, then I think he gets MOW.

You mean the Edmond Ruth who has averaged 27.5 wins the last two seasons? Yeah, he's a pretty good bet.

I was there for the Luffman/Trumble match at the Midlands. It was close.

Vincent Robinson beat max Gallagher 17-5 he had a razor thin loss to Camacho in the wrestle off but hes only a red shirt frosh nc state seems to have a great one. Hes probably most known for the Russian snap he his a folk nats 2 years ago up like 3 weight classes from what he wrestled in season.

Anyone know how the pools are determined?

The pools are here and there are a few (125, 133, 285) where ranked guys are in pool B instead of A and won't wrestle the other top guys.

I have been trying to figure this out for YEARS.  It is bonkers and seemingly a mix of cowardice and/or ego stroking to not just slap the best together if you're going to pool them.

Shapiro gets a couple of bizarre TDs, gives up a TD, lands on head, eventually MFor.  Gonna be a *really* long season...

Ugh! Not a good sign.

I'm starting to worry that this head stuff may end his career it seems like he can't go a tournament without something CKLV, I heard it was an issue at NCAA's and something had to be off at OTT's. Really hope he figures it out because I truly think the sky is the limit for him but he just cant stay healthy.

Whoa!

Great match between Stanich & Orine... last period TD was the difference maker, for Luke.

Excellent match!

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Max Brignola w/ a last second TD over ASU's Nicco Ruiz... Zeke tried the whine, but it wasn't fine. 😏
