Both significantly heavier than Vito.  The lighter guys tend to have shorter careers on top in most combat sports.  That factors in as well.  Look at Vito's injury history as of late... further compounding things.

The question was can he, not will he. As of now, yes. But no one knows what the future holds in 3.5 years.

Wow... JB is about to be bounced out of repechage. Nokhodilrimi lost to the Georgian in the last seconds.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

serious bottle job by nohkodi if that was the last time JB steps foot on the mat and I did not get to watch it because of flows stream crashing I will be rather upset.

Could it be possible that Vito may be the only American man to go for a medal?

Japan could win

57kg: Guchi
61kg: Ono
65kg: Kiyooka
70kg: Aoyagi

as well as a silver at 74 and potentially a bronze at 79 pretty insane stuff this year by Japan.

That sucks! JB is done and likely going to retire. Doesn’t get a chance at bronze and doesn’t get a chance to leave his shoes on the mat 😢 And the stream cut out in his last match so we couldn’t even see! Not the retirement he deserves! 😡

when does ONO come the US on a full ride with nil to the college of his choice

that was a impressive performance from the 20 yr old vs vito

Have the other weights finished their semis?

Not watching the matches, just on UWW getting updates and they are not as fast as you guys.

Taylor... is still alive.

But how in the *&%&$#@@@#! does he get by Ghasempour?!?!? (Let alone the rest of the bunch in repechage?)

Stay tuned!

Sadulaev Slide by go behind off of Ghas forward pressure hands in the face, then Ghas stood up before Sadulaev had the takedown and Sadulaev took him straight back exposing him for 4 to win

Actually, the question was "Does he have another entire cycle of him being the US rep left in him?" (my question)

I am leaning toward "no" seeing he is increasingly injured, has weight cut issues, and his results seem to be trending in the wrong direction. (NCAA regular season, OTT, Worlds)

Sad spun around Ghasempour, body locked and placed his left lower leg behind Ghasempour's left knee and ina cut back style bent him back for a 4 pt exposure!

The feed cut out , but the review was shown.

Wild!

So Sad was losing right up to the last few seconds when he got a 4 pointer?   That is amazing and does not spell good things for DT if he makes it to the Bronze medal match against the Iranian.

That actually says a lot of for the Iranian.   Sad did what Sad does which is win, but he rarely is in the position of being behind and needing a herculean effort to win.   Great that he did but I think this says a lot for Ghasempour.
