Is there a 4-timer out there?

This season there are no returning wrestlers who have a chance to become a four-timer.*

The last time a season started without a returning wrestler who had a chance to become a four-timer was 2010. That was the season Kyle Dake started his epic run through four weights in four years.

Every year since there was at least one guy on a streak.

And how about 2022? We started that season with 7 returning wrestlers who had a shot at becoming four-timers. And three of them did.

* I am not including Ferrari until I am certain about the ORS he claims.

Freshmen and redshirt freshmen are on a three year run without a title.

Do any of the crop of freshmen or redshirt freshmen have a realistic shot at winning this season?

I think Lilledahl is pretty far and away the front runner. Kannon webster is coming off a RS at 149 I don't see him winning it this year, but he is probably the most notable RS freshman I can think of. If Zack Ryder somehow ends up as the guy at 174 for PSU I think he deserves a mention. I do not see him beating Keegan, but crazier things have probably happened.

How did tshirts and cox have a chance at 4? they didn't win as freshmen right?

Tsirtsis was a redshirt freshman and Cox was a true freshman in 2014 when they won titles.

Tsirtsis wound up going 1, 3, R16, RS, 7

Cox was 1, 5, 1, 1

I don't know, man.

Watching Facundo roll around with Ryder in various videos, then watching Facundo - Haines at OTT... Ryder will be massive at 174lbs and Haines will be about average sized - at best.  Haines - O'Toole did not have anyone with a clear size advantage and, if anything, Haines was considerably more lean.

"I know actually nothing.  It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me

Hard to imagine anyone  winning 4 titles at 125.  @Wrestleknownothing that would be a fun thread.  Stats on which weight class has the most parity in champions since 1998.

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

I think he will grow into 133 at some point but fair point since 2010 I think Mcdonough,Delgado,Spencer are the only guys to win 2 or more.

aj will win at most one more title, at hwt

How are we defining 4-timer?  If kicked out of 4 universities counts then I think the focus still has a shot.

I'd be interested to see how many 125lbers go all 4 years at 125lbs. It seems like the most likely weight to have guys grow out of it and because of that the hardest weight to recruit.
