Doubtful.   Will she be asked anything of substance?   Will she answer with anything of substance?  Trump just has to be quiet while she rambles and everyone will see she is a train wreck worse than Biden.   Unfortunately, we have no good choices in this thing.   Of the two, I'd rather see Trump win both the debate and election.    But I think it will be close in both.

Trump's communication is so off-putting that Kamala could easily come out ahead by being truthful and focusing on policies.

Kamala comes across as so fake, dishonest, and irritating that Trump should  stick to discussing policies and ignore her completely.

***duck** us all, we definitely need better leaders, and we need critical thinkers.

He got his ass kicked, or maybe more accurate, he did his own best debate version of Jim Carey in Liar Liar, and kicked his own ass.  Either way….

This race is over. Even more republicans are going to come out against him now. The’re going to want to do the same thing the Democrats did, but they can’t because they’re too far sunk in the bed.

Bah bye.

The debate won't change anything.  It's relevance is as fake as conventions

*nods vigorously* or maybe even the concept of a plan.

It's comical how voters who already have their minds made  up lie to themselves that debates somehow sway the "other" voters

100%.  This will still be a tight race.  It doesn't matter how titanically insane Trump was tonight.  Debates historically don't mean much.

They don't mean anything.  The race has always been the same race since the start of the election season.  An unpopular incumbency vs an unpopular former president.  Trump has an electoral advantage and the two missing ingredients are A) how fresh is abortion on the minds of suburban women in swing states and b) how well is Trump actually over performing in the polls which is a real thing.  And please no one bring up 2022 polling.  National elections don't poll like midterms

I ain't bringing up anything.  I've always thought this would be close.  She's been a better candidate than I anticipated, but candidate quality hardly matters any more, we're so calcified as a voting populace.

I must say my wife only got vocal during the abortion topic. I thought Trumps position was clear but Kamala’s comments (accurate or not) were personal to her.

I am mostly upset with Harris for failing to address the real issues. The cats and dogs of Springfield are facing an existential crisis and as Vice President she has done nothing about it.

Probably the most important point of the night was that Trump was the only person involved who realized that for Ukraine to win the war with a nuclear power could mean devastating consequences for the entire world.

I appreciate you not bringing up the polling!  Very sensitive to this topic as a former poli sci graduate.  I will have to disagree with you on her being a quality candidate.  I don't believe she's good at all.  She struggled to get in running for the AG position and she got booted out of the DNC primary faster than the 32 seed at NCAA's.  I personally believe Trump's winning this and I blame the DNC or Biden for not stepping aside earlier and having a primary.  They had some decent contenders on the bench

It was one of his better moments.  As much as I'd like to see Ukraine win it's almost a foregone conclusion that this will end in a deal.  Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to sustain this for the long haul and Putin is willing to kill every last Russian soldier to save face.  Not totally buying the nuclear threat.  There are too many oligarchs that want to go yachting during the summer in the Mediterranean

I’m not totally buying your skepticism.  Putin won’t go down easily, and oligarchs are terribly accident prone around Russian high-rise windows.  If one goes off, where do the retaliations end?

Despite the rhetoric, Putin is more measured than how he's portrayed in the US media.  Ukraine just set off drone attacks in Moscow.  They invaded the Kursk region.  Has one nuclear warhead been launched?  This is despite all the nuclear saber rattling we've heard from the kremlin over the last few years.
