Hamas, supported by nearly 3/4 of all Palestinians, conducted Oct 7th.   They all knew Israel’s retaliation would be severe.  War is hell (UB has said this many times) and this should have been expected.  Both sides are committing war crimes.  Both sides have had war crimes committed on them.  Don’t start something when you know you can’t handle the blow back.

So what should we do? Are bombs our only option?

Are you ok sacrificing 29% of a population to kill/destroy/crush the other 71%?

The problem here is you are oversimplifying it.

Israel isn't simply sitting back casually trying to decide how many people to kill with bombs.

As this progresses, they are also losing many brave lives in actual live fighting. And if they aren't able to crush the most dangerous adversaries, they risk losing many more lives in the process. Sorting it out is a dangerous and risky task.

War can always turn in an instant. Hamas has long arms that reach Iran, Lebanon, Syria. Israel must remain vigilant and on the offense. The reality is that they are still at risk of losing this war.

All while trying to recover hostages that would have been released long ago if there were any legitimate intention by Gaza/Hamas to forge any kind of real peace. Hamas' desire for peace is pure fiction.

Israel is at war with an opponent who doesn't want to end the war - they want to prolong it. The more war there is, the more press. The more press, the easier it is to paint Israel as the bully.

Much of the world is buying into the "Israel is the bully' charade. Which in turn creates a cycle of more press.

Israel needs to put an end to this and, as of earlier today, it appears they are preparing to do exactly that.

Poor civilian was killed in the raid.   He was a reporter also.   But he held hostages in his house.   My question is if IDF is killing everyone, how is it that this guy still had a house standing in all the rubble in which he could hold hostage 3 Israelis?   Apparently, IDF is not causing the destruction that has been reported by Hamas.
