why?

Well, one way to look at it would be how badly it hurt Israel’s ability to carry out their war aims when the World Central Kitchen workers were killed. Political pressure became enormous and they were prevented from going into Rafah. If they intentionally targeted hospitals/aid workers etc they would not have the support from the US they need.

what makes you say that? you can assume it, but it doesn’t make it true.

I can see you are assuming a lot in this discussion, doesn’t make it true.

“Despite the sanctions, Iranian oil exports have continued to surge, funding Iran's October 7 war on Israel -- in addition to more than 150 attacks on US troops in the Middle East by Iran's militias and proxies. The US administration, it appears, has actually been funding Iran to attack Israel and itself.

In addition, Iran continues sending weapons to Russia, to help it crush Ukraine.”

why will no one take in the Palestinians as refugees?

maybe because, wherever they go, terror follows.

a history:

Yes, ethnically cleansing Palestine is not a long term sustainable solution because it only empowers groups like Hamas. It would make Israel and the rest of the region less safe. Thank you for adding this context.

I love how a certain protester ignores all the crime the anti Israel protesters are committing and only talks about hula hoops and libraries. Then proceeds to show individual idiots on the other side.   F ing hypocrite.

Again.  In 1948, the day after the Jewish people were put into Israel FIVE Arab countries declared war on them.   Who started it ????

Israel needs to rip the poisonous weed of Hamas out root and stem.  Hamas can end this by surrendering, by no longer fighting back.

Since Hamas was  the EVIL perpetrators of the Oct 7 massacre and they clearly expected and wanted a vicious counter attack that would harm many that they hide behind, why aren’t innocent palestinians and their supporters demanding and protesting for Hamas to surrender?

@uncle bernard - do your protests call for the surrender of Hamas?  I believe you agree Hamas is evil and should be held accountable.

It is the quickest way to end this.  The innocent Palestinian people should rise up against the animals that use them as shields.

so much easier said than done. autocratic governments are hard to overthrow for a reason. and as bad as hamas is, they’re not the ones killing Palestinians right now no matter how anybody tries to twist the logic. right now they’re more concerned with just trying to survive the next run of air strikes.

You are deflecting.  It would be very powerful for Palestinians to point to Hamas as barbarians who committed an atrocity and shouted that they are unwelcome.  If Hamas’ support dried up it would help to kill their movement.  And they may very well lay down their arms.  Why don’t you suggest to your protestors to shame Hamas and declare that Hamas should surrender.  Don’t you agree that this would end the fighting and the horror?  If you care most about innocents, then you all should be shouting for this.  Don’t point at just one party you feel is bad, point at them both.

I believe you won’t.  Hypocrisy is thick.

i don’t think it would end the horror. maybe the current war in Gaza, but not the horror. and it’s not realistic either. nice fantasy sure, but people are more concerned with not dying right now to make brave democratic stands against their authoritarian government.

hamas doesn’t control the West Bank and they are still under violent occupation and having their land seized by illegal settlers. How do you account for that if this is only about Hamas?

as for the protestors “shaming hamas” sure that would be nice but what’s the point? our gov isn’t supporting hamas. the public doesn’t support hamas. so what would they be protesting against? that’s the part you all keep missing. nobody in this country needs to be educated that an islamist terror group is bad.

also there are palestinians who criticized hamas for 10/7. they could all come out and do it and it’s not going to change that hamas has the weapons and is in the tunnels and Israel is is going to keep bombing Gaza in retribution.
