I know most of the talk for 197 is how good Hidlay has looked and if he has a shot against Brooks.

But I wouldn’t completely rule out Beard beating him especially with the former teammate factor.

Good list.

I would add Starocci if he doesn't look 100% v. Mekhi.   If Carter looks like his himself then I don't think this is a match but I wouldn't rule out Mekhi vs. an 85% Starocci.

What % is Mekhi, though?  I feel as we haven't seen anything near 100% in quite some time.

Is he not 100%?  If not then I think we can write Starocci's name in Pen.

It seems as if he hasn't looked the same since the year he won it.  There have definitely been several injuries over the years.  I will say he did look great vs NC State in the dual meet a few weeks back.

125: Davis vs. Stanich
McKee vs. Anyone on the backside

133: Shawver vs. Vito

141: Echemendia vs. Woods rematch

165: Mesenbrink vs. Carr

174: Injured Griffith vs. Injured Stall Rock

184: Rogotzke vs. anyone who wants to roll around with him.
Didn't notice Foca was up to 184 - I am curious to see how he does up here.
Plott vs. Salazar

197: Glazier vs. anyone in the top 8 that isn't Brooks, honestly.

285: Kerklivet vs. Schultz
Kerklivet vs. Bastida
Pitzer vs. Schultz rematch

He did not look great against Justin McCoy needed a late takedown but that could just be because they've wrestled so many times.

1032004, Hidlay majored Beard already this year.  What adjustments do you think Beard makes to make it a competitive rematch?

Whoops, forgot about that.  Well if Beard takes out Brooks in the semis, then maybe he can hope Hidlay turns into the Hidlay when he wrestles Brooks and forgets his offense.

57’ is deep so they’ll be a bunch of good matchups in that bracket….. and 25’ is going to be a complete shit show

Brooks and Beard won't be on the same side of the bracket.  If it were to somehow happen Brooks by major

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

Rumor was that he was beating the brakes off of Beard when he was a 184. I don’t imagine it going better for Beard now.

This isn’t very surprising.  Beard gets a lot of great press and promotion, but he’s AA’d once and took 7th.  People love a good story, but let’s have Beard get past someone like Jaxon Smith or Glazier first before we entertain the exceedingly hypothetical.  If they straight up Jet Li poisoned brooks it still might not be a very close match.

When I started this thread I was honestly thinking he hasn’t gotten a lot of press this year.   He did have a win over Max Dean of course but I guess Brooks likely “beat the breaks off” him too.
