Assuming Ben's recent announcement means he's pursuing a career to coach in college:

-What University makes the most sense?

-How realistic is it that he can jump into a head coaching role or is it smarter to get a few years as an assistant

-On name recognition would it be the biggest hire since Cael to ISU then PSU?

-How long until his team would be fighting for a title?

-Does he have the personality to run a program long term?

So you would agree he has name recognition with people under 30.  I regret putting name recognition as a question.  I'm more curious of the other questions I posted

He might be a great coach from what I can tell. I'd need to see where he ends up, and i hope he ends up somewhere, before I could guess how it will take or if he'll have success.

Hammer, sometimes it's ok to just take the L & admit you are wrong.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

I feel like he will be a very good coach. He is very thoughtful about his approach to the sport. He has developed a philosophy about how it should be taught and how athletes should be managed such that they have long term success. He has used his wrestling academy to test his theories and it has worked exceptionally well.

Given his strong opinions and given that he now can prove his methods work, I do not see him accepting an assistant coaching position where he may need to work within someone else's system such that he may need to compromise.

hard to imagine...its not a great life, unless he goes right to "associate head coach" status.

For those of us with no Twitter etc, can someone fill us in on what his recent announcement was?

On FRL 1000 he announced he is leaving the podcast & that at some point all he wants to do is coach and this is part of the process.  He's not quite there yet but he'll be there soon enough

It doesn’t seem like he wants to move. I can’t imagine he goes anywhere but Wisconsin, if anywhere

If he took a head coaching job somewhere he would have access to the hammers that his brother, coach Mesenbrink and the other AWA coaches are putting out. That pipeline would certainly help out. I think he would be a successful college coach as long as he could play nice with the administration on things. As a wrestling mind, he is one of the best.
