RBY did not weigh in

Dean vs Beard as the main course.  Not sure what weight we are starting at.

Looks like while the broadcast is available on Flo, it is actually being announced by SEN.

I have my concerns w/ some of the fellas in the Hawkineer line-up... even w/ the substitutions by the nits.

I figured that the nits were going to win this dual., no questions asked.

(... uh, by the way. Did  anyone hear the nitsfans yeowl out their, "We are..." I didn't hear it during the Service Electric/FLO stream. Could've done during the commercial breaks,  but meh!🙄)

D3

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Beard wins an incredible match over Dean.  11-9.  Revenge is sweet.

Boy, Dean was totally gassed by the end.  They were in neutral and he was pretty much staggering toward Beard trying to engage for a Hail Mary TD at the end.

Anyone recall the last time a #1 and defending champion lost two matches in a row the next year, much less two in one weekend?

Technically a Champion  sure but he was gifted that by the officials in 2 matches...

I was wondering if that was more points than in their wrestle-offs over the last couple years TOTAL!

Does Carl have an empty transfer spot available in the basement?

I’m a Penn State fan and I was happy for Beard. I’m hoping Dean will straighten out whatever is going on with him. 197 is very much a toss up this year, with Elam probably being a slight favorite.

I’m guessing there’s a bug going through the team. Brooks sat on Friday and looked … not great today against Samuelson. RBY sits out today. Dean looked like dog shit both days, with his conditioning looking worse than Beard’s, which is something I thought I’d never say.

And ducked the all-star

My worry for Dean is the same for all older wrestlers, Life. You can only be a kid so long. Once life starts happening focus becomes more difficult for some.

There are world team members in their 30's with more responsibilities on their plate than a master's student taking half course load and weighing in 2-4 times a month.

I don't think Dean's issue is a lack of focus. I think he is one of the top wrestlers at his weight but has not fully separated himself. I also think it is possible that he (and a few other Lions) have been down with a bug or something similar. Brooks, for example, didnt wrestle Friday and looked a little flat against Lehigh on Sunday

Dean is probably wrestling up a weight bc he can’t beat brooks , he’s short for 197 has a a lot of tough match ups for him size wise , so when he has a rough weekend he has less room for error than other returning champs who are wrestling at their ideal weight class , either way he should be good for march , and beard had everything to gain and wrestle for in this match in his home gym and it was still close , hoping we get a rematch on Friday or Saturday night in march
