Only in your fantasy world do you believe people think criminals shouldn't be prosecuted for the crimes they commit.

Exhibit A:   Hunter Biden and that sweetheart plea deal he had.    Too bad that the plan not to prosecute him for those crimes was thwarted.    Let's see who was it that didn't want to prosecute his crimes?   Oh yeah, DOJ!!   Yeah, only in my fantasy world.  Looks like your fantasy world too, because you're dead and not part of the real world.

How about this?   5 member gang accused of robbing asians in their houses in Seattle.   One of them a 16 year old asked the judge why he wasn't getting house arrest instead of being held in jail.   All the other folks who shoot people get house arrest.   Judge said no.   It's about time.   The question is why would the kid think he was owed house arrest?    Think about that one for a bit.   It  might answer your statement above.

To add to this thread, Hard Rock Cafe is closing their store near Pike Place Market, which is the criminal epicenter of Seattle.   But they must be closing this particular store to concentrate on their web sales.   Yeah, in someone's fantasy world.

right. i've seen a lot of videos with people of DC complaining and voicing their outrage.

the point of me posting that was not b/c i'm saying 'people like it;'

it's to once again drive home the fact that this is the policy of democratic (soros-backed) D.A.'s in tons of major cities.

how people fail to acknowledge / accept this is quite confusing.

It seems the US attorney is basically saying there is not enough resources to prosecute.   So why has it increased?   Because a crime lab lost accreditation 2 years ago?  This is a democrat run city - if the D's are soooooo interested in prosecuting criminals, they would have that lab up and going by now.   Why isn't it?

"The community should be assured that we continue to prosecute violent felonies as aggressively as ever, and we will continue to do so," the statement to News4 said. "The increase in declinations is being primarily driven by challenges unique to misdemeanors and some of the unique factors related to non-violent drug offenses and weapons offenses.”

So please feel assured, they are prosecuting violent felonies, just not the misdemeanors.  How about non violent felonies, are they prosecuting those?   I hear all these liberals on this board saying our fantasy driven complaints of criminals not being prosecuted is pure bunk.   But here it is explained.   It is because Ds don't fund the criminal justice system.  Period.   If they had the labs to do it they would prosecute, is what the US attorney is saying.  So why do they not have the labs?   Funding.   Why do they not have 360- degree body cameras?  Funding.   Who controls the funding?   Democrats.    The math here is not difficult to figure out.

This is true, but are any council members R?   Is the Mayor R?   Those are the people that will be funding the justice system for city criminal activity.    The Feds oversee some of activities true but not that.   That is a city function and the council and mayor run that, like any other city.   Out of 13 on the council 11 are D and 2 are I.   Look to them for leadership or lack thereof on the infrastructure to deal with criminality.   So far, not doing so well.

We get it. You point your finger at the D's every chance you get. Go team Fox News, I guess.

Just more R vs D venting that maybe makes you feel like you are right but helps nobody.

Yes.

No.

The whole Hunter Biden thing is over promoted political bullshit. There's no crazy laptop containing nuclear codes or anything even remotely close. Just political fiction designed to manipulate people to get them fired up. Same thing as the Hilary email server. Nothing real. Its fiction designed to manipulate voters.

Yes.

Thanks in large part to the use of the internet by criminals, crime has gotten to be over-the-top crazy. And all of it is accessible to children. Unfortunately, they are too young (aka stupid) to know better. And boom goes the dynamite.

Why gun laws keep getting more lenient is beyond me. Kids and guns - we've got to keep them separated.

I agree 100%. Criminals need to be prosecuted. Violent criminals even more vigorously.

We need a zero-tolerance policy for carjacking and home invasion. Zero.

I don't care about any criminal's race, religion, or creed. No excuses.

Would-be criminals need to know, beyond any doubt, that they will be going to jail if they choose violent crime.

Hunter Biden this, Hunter Biden that.... he's just a smart criminal, unlike Trump. Maybe Trump should get better at being a criminal and learn from the Biden crime family. I love it how dumb and senile Biden is, but yet he still runs the most corrupt crime family in the world.

Careful, now what should the punishment be for carjacking and home invasion for the initial crime, and repeat offender?

I'm sure this is where him and I would diverge (like probably every other topic there is)...I am not a lenient person for criminals...especially repeat offenders.

DC is not exactly a Democrat run city.  It is overwhelmingly left, but some/much of it's administration is federal.  I think that needs to change and the administration come from the new state that is presently a district.

Exactly! It's part of the daily dive into making fantasy reality and reality fantasy that these poor souls fall for,  day after day.

What IS a Democrat run city? What does that mean?

Yet,  there's zero evidence to tie Dark Brandon to any crimes,  any time,  any where.

However,  it's "plausible" and " true enough, " therefore,  "true" in the world of fantasy equaling reality and reality equaling fantasy.

in a thread about major cities having businesses closing i linked article upon article of their crime surges. simultaneously, DA's are on record and prosecution % and no cash bail are demonstrably up.

+ All the DA's who Soros funded are a matter of public record.

It's al plain to see. I don't care if it's the Left or the Right. i have no allegiance to either. But when facts are plain as day...

Generally speaking, Plas.

City after city is becoming softer on crime. The DA's openly talk about it.

It's part of the left's agenda.

So while every city is seeing lower prosecution numbers, and the people of DC themselves are complaining about it,

you think there's no tie in there? you think DC's doubling of unprosecuted crimes in 1 year is just coincidental? or are you actually buying that 1 forensic lab being shut down is the real reason?

If people agree that crime in some areas has gotten out of control, if it isn't because of certain policies and certain DA's, what is the cause, or causes?  Are there any correlations between the different area's that can be made?  If there is, why do people discount them so quickly...if you want crime to go down why wouldn't you be open to any and all solutions and ideas??

What I am telling you is there is no DA in DC.  Although I am mostly busting your chops, DC is a poor choice to forward your narrative.  IMO

I don't disagree that city prosecution numbers are down nor do I disagree that the left is the reason for it. Jails and courts have their purpose.  But are they too intrusive in our society?  Are we grossly over incarcerated?  Incarceration doesn't deter crime but it does, obviously, alter a criminals capacity to commit crime.  But it also causes crime, because let's face it, once you've been incarcerated your shot at an honest, productive life is greatly diminished.

I also question how someone can campaign on the issue, deliver on it and then give a damn about what some out of district bumpkin thinks about it!

Yes,  there are a few,  but in reality,  which has been the case since 1991, crimes rates nationwide and in cities, has been plummeting.

But,  it's a good way to keep angry and uninformed people afraid.  If we can attach it to one oversimplified reason (libruls and Democrats) as a means to try to win elections,  all the better.

I think THAT should be criminal,  especially of anyone selling themselves as "news."
