I'm curious what people think after the EIWA 165 lb final - who gets seeded higher, Ramirez or Monday (assuming the NCAAs do not use the EIWA Seeding Formula!)

he beat him twice. i think this one is unambiguous. more interesting question is ramirez or griffith given Shane's loss in the Pac 12 final.

Ramirez almost definitely will be ahead of griffith who has 2 loses to Oregon state kid and Caliendo from North Dakota state while his best wins are over caliendo and sheets from OSU who needs a wildcard

Does it matter that Ramirez also beat Olguin this year?

Previous Coaches Ranking, top 8:

RANK     NAME    TEAM    CONFERENCE     POINTS

1             David Carr     Iowa St. Big 12    396

2             Keegan O`Toole  Missouri       Big 12    384

3             Shane Griffith     Stanford       Pac 12   370

4             Quincy Monday  Princeton      EIWA     355

5             Cameron Amine        Michigan       Big Ten  340

6             Dean Hamiti       Wisconsin      Big Ten  336

7             Julian Ramirez    Cornell  EIWA     319

8             Patrick Kennedy Iowa      Big Ten  312

It'll be interesting to see how much (if at all?) this changes.  Coaches ranking is 15% in the criteria, head-to-head is 25%.  I'm not sure I understand how this works as applied to the entire field, though.

It better freaking change or else the whole concept of a "coaches ranking" needs to change. 3-5 took losses this weekend. 6-8 should take their place

Clearly Carr is #1 but after that it is muddled.

Does O’Toole stay at 2, and if so what about Hamiti and Ramirez?

Then  what about Griffith and Monday?  I think if he were healthy Amine would be in the top 5 conversation - and what about Kharchla?

I am sure there are others I left out -

what a mess!

There's a match in the EIWAs that has been deleted by Flo, and for good reason.  Anyone want to venture a guess as to why it was deleted?  It's something that I've never seen before in a match.

(no, it isn't when McGonagle got hurt and was screaming in pain)

Huh, what does that mean? Are you saying there was exposed genitalia?

No.  First pigtail match on Mat 3, apparently a guy threw up during the match (and defaulted).  I didn't see it, but saw them spending a ton of time (maybe twenty minutes or more?) mopping up the mat and cleaning it.  They must have some sanitation protocol for that.  Threw off the schedule quite a bit.

He did not throw up. It was an explosion coming from the other end. I kid you not. Very embarrassing for the kid who actually won his next match.

Ew.  Even worse.  I feel bad for the kid.  No wonder it took so long to clean the mat.
