His Buckeye career is over as a 4x NQ.

With the lack of 125lb depth OSU has after a great recruiting cycle these last 2 years this hurts as a fan even more we couldn't see him try to finish strong. He never used a redshirt. ugh.

Definitely true, just read this on the tOSU wrestling site. I'm really bummed about this and feel super bad for him; I've been following his career since he pinned a kid from my son's high school team in about 15 seconds in the Colorado state tournament. Would have been tough for him to AA this year but he was definitely capable of sneaking in. The irony is that the weight class really clears out next year and he would have been in a great position to do even better had he redshirted this year. But I don't think that would even be an option for him at this point. And it's good for kids to get on with their lives, not stay in college forever (seven years of college down the drain!)

125 will be interesting for tOSU next year. Gonzales, McCrone and Kilkeary.

FWIW Gonzales and Kilkeary have a common opponent this year...Jax Forrest! Jax beat both...

12-4 vs Gonzales

8-7 vs Kilkeary

I'm a Penn State fan, what is this 125 you speak of?

Penn State won't be good again at 125lbs until the 2041/2042 season when a Freshman phenom named Nicholas Suriano Jr. enrolls

I don’t see McCrone getting the starting spot over Gonzales next year

Since Malik earned an allocation, once he doesn't enter the qualifier, the B1G loses the spot and only the top 8 earned automatic bids, correct?

Yeah, his AQ spot goes into wildcard

What terrible timing. Heinselman was always a small for a college 125 but he put in a lot of hard work and has come a long way since his Freshman year. I would have been pulling for him in the post-season. Medley, too.

I don’t particularly care for tOSU but he seemed like a guy who could make AA with a decent draw and I always root for the fringe guys on their last chance.

Sorry it didn’t work out for him.
