There is a quite large middle ground between “morally perfect” and banging hookers on Mother’s Day weekend with a wife and kids at home.

i know it was another edit on a one sentence post, but...

So someone tells you that you sound like you’re not trying to have a conversation in good faith (basically)  etc etc mocking

You called me Kamala Harris when I was doing my best to channel Jean Luc Marion

Good faith? I began by conceding that there is a god in heaven, that god is YHWH (and his cohorts), and that I believed in him.

I argued from there ... If thats not good faith, Idk what you want.

we can’t really explain love…with the definitiveness you seemed to want. I don’t think that’s hippie sounding…just blunt in a biblical sense.

So, you think Augustine, Anslem, Aquinas, Luther, Calvin, Mirandolla,  Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Anne Hutchinson, Paine and Jefferson, Johnathan Edwards,  Kierkegarrd, William James, Rene Girard, Marion . . . Idk . . . You think that shit was just a waste of time? That they were wordsmithing?

BTW that you think the Bible -- a famously thorny collection of texts associated with an ever increasing number of sects bc of an ever increasing number of interpretations --  offers  the "blunt" truth is . . . Idk,  It's something.

No there isn't when it isn't yours or anyone else place spew laughable judgment on an anonymous message board about someone who made a mistake. Judgment should be between him, his God, and his wife...and whatever legal ramifications he faced.

And in no way am I defending his actions but I'm not going to sit and pretend I have some moral high ground and crap on the guy. Especially since I can guarantee all you blow hards aren't innocent little saints. Get over your damn selfs.

Again, I’m pretty sure most of us here don’t bang hookers on Mother’s Day weekend with a wife and kids at home.  I also think it’s a safe bet that wasn’t the first time Snyder had made that “mistake,” it was just the first time he got caught.

if you're a Christian, you know everything comes from the lord and all glory is reserved for God. Twist it however you feel, but know it is not unique to Snyder. Everything I have is only because of the grace of God.

Not true. There are too many Christian denominations to say they all believe that line.

If you aren't a Christian why are you judging him against a standard you reject? He attempted to engage in a consensual exchange of services for money. What's so bad about that? If you think he was immortal but rejected the standard of morality maybe it's you who is the hypocrite?

I'm glad I don't live life by your logic (or lack there of).

“Well if we’re getting biblical”…uhh what? You mentioned Christians…of course it goes biblical. Mary and Joseph were not married at the time of Jesus conception…there’s a beautiful message in there with Joseph’s obedience and trust in God to follow through with marrying Mary during those times specifically.

That's if you believe biblical scripture is accurate. Not all Christians believe that everything in the Bible is word for word historically accurate.
