No one expected him to succeed at senior this year after loosing to an unknown indian at under 23.

Made it to final beating abbasghadzi and teching kudiev and an Iranian .

Bo strategy is to melt his opponent with his pace. He's got tevanyan in the final who imo is the hardest to get on his legs and who could keep up with Bo pace .  Hard match for Bo but definitely winnable .

I'm hoping for: no challenge, no blood time, and no; oh my knee cold spray please!

If they let Tevanyan headbutt he could stifle Bo's pace and attacks, but if there are points going and they open up Bo will run through him

I believe he and Yianni split, correct?

Hopefully he doesn't resort to extracurricular tactics to slow Bo down.  If not, there is the potential for a DT - Yaz match 2017/2018.  That version of Yaz had a great gas tank until he wrestled Taylor and the DT pace made him magically wilt.  Prior to that, I thought Yaz weaponized his pace.

Very true about yazdani using his pace until this match with Taylor.

The way I see it This match will be close for 4 minutes and eventually Bo will break him in the last 2 minutes

I don't think Bo breaks him, if Tevanyan gets a few rests.  Also only match of the day for both.

I pointed in an earlier post that tevanyan represent a different challenge for Bo because he has a deep gas tank. But idk I feel like Bo pace is too much to handle even for tevanyan who wrestled Amouzad and Shamil and both didn't want to engage him.  Bo is on fire and the confidence he got from today will help him.

I don't see Bo loosing but I don't think it's gonna be easy  ,tevanyan is always game.

I hope your right but Bo must not let pace get him sloppy and get countered. He barely got away with it with the Russian

Yoshida build is funny but he can move, seems to be kinda chubby.

Some interesting tidbits about Arash Yoshida. Only 22 years old. He's Iranian/Japanese. His father is a former Iranian wrestler (Javed Esfanjani). Left Iran and started a wrestling club (Ichikawa Koshti Club) outside of Tokyo. Where Arash and his brothers trained in traditional Iranian wrestling techniques.

Another wrestler for Japan (Keyvan Gharedhdaghi) also has an Iranian father and Japanese mother and won the Asian Championships this year at 79kg in his first major senior tournament beating Olympic Champion Zhamalov. He also recently took Silver at the U20 Worlds. Unfortunately he had to pull out of the Senior Worlds due to a knee injury. Not sure if he trains at the same club at Arash Yoshida.

*Shared from another.

Amazing how she was able to completely control and dominate that match with taking a single shot.  Ugly style but man was it effective.  Lots of young wrestlers should watch her to learn that you have to develop a style that works for you and your body. That Japanese girl she shut out is good and had just beaten the defending world champ. Hats off the Leydecker. Super impressive performance and that’s super cool if that really was her old man in her corner.

I mean, I'll agree that it's clearly effective but I would never show a young wrestler her matches from Worlds as any kind of inspiration. Winning a match 2-1 on passivity points and then clinging to fingers for the majority of a match to prevent wrestling from happening might be effective but it is not what I'm looking for young wrestlers to aspire to.

I get that most people don't care what it takes as long as America wins, but I honestly felt bad for Harada in the same way that I felt bad for Jax after he lost the series to Marcus. Both Jax and Harada were there to wrestle and may the best wrestler win, Blaze and Leydecker were there to limit the wrestling as much as possible, get a point or two, and earn the win playing the game. It's effective, especially in freestyle if you're able to hold center, but I just can't stand watching that style as a fan. I want to see wrestlers go out and wrestle.

Really pumped for Bo/Tevanyan- I've been waiting for that one for a while and believe I posted a while back about wanting to see it. Can't believe it's for world Gold tho!

If you've really been clamoring for that, you've gotta pull the receipts because that is a hell of a pull. I've never heard anyone else ask for that matchup. Kudos, brother. You get your wish and for the whole thing!

Yes they did, I am really curious about him vs Bo in the finals

For Team USA Women to win they need to win 1 of 2 Gold medal matches at 55 & 59 or JPN needs to lose their bronze medal match.

Current scores for Women (as posted on UWW) 55 and 59 hadn't been posted as of these scores.
JPN 120
CHI 115
USA 92

Copied...

The biggest foe Bo is facing at this point is the 24hr intermission.  A lot can happen in that window.

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

Predicitions:

61KG

Gold: Uguev

Silver: Blaze

Bronze: Hartunyan

Bronze: Asan Uulu

5th: Kim

5th: Javan

The top half of the bracket is STACKED. K. Kim vs. Uguev as an early round matchup is great. There are at least 2 if not more 3 K.Kim's at 61/65KG for PRK. One of them won senior asians this year at 61KG, all of them are good. Either way I have Uguev making the quarters, where I expect him to face Abdullaev, although Smith could maybe sneak one to get there. I have Uguev over either. Hasegawa should make one of the other quarter spots, I think Harutyunyan takes out old man Abakarov to make that quarter, and beats Hagesawa to make the semis.

Uguev has won the last two matchups between those two, and while I like how Harutunyan has been wrestling, I think that Uguev is just as clutch as it gets, keeps his win streak going and pulls it out.

The bottom is a bit weaker, but not weak at all. I have Asan Uulu making the top quarter spot, where he would take out Shamela. Blaze will have some touch matches, and I think Colesnic could push him but I have him making the quarters and facing reigning world silver Javan, but pulling out the win.

That semi would be super interesting, especially with how explosive and offensive Asan Uulu is, however, I think Blaze can pull it off, before getting out positioned and running into the veteran savvy of Uguev in the finals.

I'll look... complete opposite stylistically so will be interesting to see what happens but Tevs got that wiley vet experience so going to temper expectations

I see the potential for the same match as the U23 matchup vs the Indian wrestler.  Slow, defensive, and plodding.  With his strength, can he frustrate Bo into mistakes and poor edge wrestling.  We'll see.  When going against a no-offense wrestler, I'll always lean towards the aggressor, but as we saw vs Amouzad, you just never know.
