No. Assaulting the heckler is expected in that venue, but assaulting the heckler is not okay. Heckling itself is also not okay.

It is not okay for the media to falsely claim the heckler was assaulted over her shirt, and it is not okay to repeat that lie. Most headlines imply the shirt was the reason (“Girl wearing shirt assaulted”), even when the article itself never states that.

We have people that can’t imagine an apple spinning in their head, so how can we expect them to notice that the shirt is not the cause?

… Now I searched hard and did find one foreign title that directly said the assault was because of the shirt.  The article stated it was because of heckling.

This reminds me of people that interpret criticism for their action as if it is criticism of them fully as a person.  Smart people can do dumb things and that doesn’t make the person dumb.

Can you provide a link that the person was actually “heckling” AKA yelling things, and not just standing up?
