Seems perfectly normal.

Could you imagine guys like Doug Dake, God rest his soul, and David Taylor Sr. carrying on like that as their kids made names for themselves?

Definitely not Doug Dake, who I had the pleasure of meeting for the course of a meal.

Rapid reactions with terrible takes:

57 Spencer Lee vs Valizadeh second round. That is the gold medal match.

61 Blaze on the less brutal side, has tough sledding ahead of him

65 Bassett *should* make it at least to the quarters, but 65 is always nails. BBQ or finals wouldn't surprise me.

70 Zain will give Musukaev an opportunity for some cold spray second round. This may be the oldest bracket in the history of senior worlds.

74 Greezy had a great comeback story, which would be cool if it didn't reek of "WTF HAPPENED TO 74  IT WAS ONE OF OUR DEEPEST WEIGHTS." I hope he proves us all wrong.

79 Haines has a good shot at making it back to the finals, this time against Nokhodi who is downright nasty.

86 is wack. Ramazanov and Ghasempour off the scales sucks. Ghasempour may be the most underrated 2x world champ ever. Dake isn't a shaved gorilla up at 86 so don't be surprised by a medal or quick DNP. Did I mention that two champs off the scales is some BS? Because that freaking sucks. Curious to see how Ramazanov looks after potential career-altering shoulder surgery and if he can Ghas out Ghasempour.

92 Hidlay has a tough semi against the guy who should actually be the favorite in Firouzpour, then a potential finals rematch. Hoping the top goes chalk and we can see a battle of the underhooks! Will be an asbolutely fire match.

97 Snyderlaev round 17 in the quarters after Russian Tank opens against a former world champion. Yazdani is getting bounced second round by Yoshida, who I think will lose to Taz in the semis. For all intents and purposes, Yazdani seems like a great competitor. But I hate everytime I see "The Greatest" when he's literally Duane Goldman. Would he beat the living piss out of me? Yes. Do I want to see him taken to the woodshed... again? Yes. Unfortunately Yoshida and Taz are too fundamental to light up the scoreboard. Unnecessary rant about an absolutely phenomenal wrestler over. Sadulaev with another gold - I'm never picking against him even if he is 52 years old.

125 Remember how 74 was supposed to be deep? Well 125 was right behind it with an olympic champ and world medalist keeping the gates. Now? Probably DNP again with the guy who has absolutely earned his spot on the team but in a different life would be 4th or 5th on the ladder more focused on the Colorado Springs nightlife rather than Stilly Boy world team street cred. Such is life. Maybe Eddie Eagle, oops I mean Jovan Smith can stumble bass ackwards into a bronze match again. If you put on just a liiiitle bit of tin foil, this is still all Zahid's fault for pulling that damn singlet.

I need more coffee and less haterade. Le sigh.

Well... Yoshida is half-Iranian, so there is a possibility that he will be psychologically destroyed by the possibility of having to face King Yazdani!

He's half Iranian but 100% chubby, unlike that absolutely YOKED bum Azarpira who I still cannot believe didn't take out Yazdani. Those matches blew me away and legit earned even more respect. Some say it's the greatest respect. Not me, but others are saying it. It's a great respect. I know a lot of great respects you know.

Yoshida by 4.

I'm not in the know much at all on international WFS, but, is it odd that Kennedy Blades got pinned? I only know her from domestic events she's competed in, and she is always nails/looks unbeatable.

Was that something that was expected (maybe not the pin, but people that can beat her), or was this an anomoly? Just curious.

She is beatable at the senior level and word on the street is she takes the majority of lumps in domestic training camps.

Pin wasn't expected, but it's worlds. Everyone is a BAMF.

I mean, she got taken down and the opponent just ran her over to her back with not a lot of resistance

When you're 100% Jesus Trained™ you never resist when the lord works in mysterious ways. I'm sure we will hear all about it in the next interview

I wish American wrestling "journalists" would actually ask follow-up questions instead of letting wrestlers endlessly ramble about faith

Imagine if an interviewer asked Kennedy "why doesn't God want you to have a gold medal?" - her brain would break in real time.

You don't need to ask, you need to read the bible you heathen.

It's obviously because Rudis singlets are 80% polyester/20% elastane and that's a real big no-no.

Leviticus 19:19: "You must keep my statutes. You must not allow two different kinds of your animals to breed, you must not sow your field with two different kinds of seed, and you must not wear a garment made of two different kinds of fabric."

So this Concord Cup appears to be a team tournament…

how exactly where individual “champions” determined…

there is just so little information readily available about this tourney…

Ponder Denzel Washington GIF by Entertainment Tonight

Having participated in it I can tell you.

1st couple of sessions were a dual/team tournament, National/World teams from a number of nations (Asia, Europe and the Pans and a couple of US Teams with World/National teamers).

Countries would dual each other and the last day was an individual tournament, typically brackets of 8.

About 20 years ago it became a junior/U20 event.

I believe that ended with COVID or when Mark Halvorson passed away.

Thats Old Testament…Jesus death fulfilled and superseded the Old Covenant  (Mosiac Law) and replaced it with the The New Covenant…

Pretty solid tournament, back in the 80s-90s?

"Kyle Snyder - your wife is a product of Catholic schooling. Did that make it easier to cheat on her, since she's obligated to stay with you to avoid a divorce and eternal damnation?"

So much potential for entertaining television
