BruceyB Posted October 16 Posted October 16 James looked quick and explosive, but he wrestled pretty sloppy. He basically let his opponent fall into two takedowns and gave up a four on his double. He pretty much gave all 8 points over to the opponent.. He lost in the u20 finals largely due to sloppy wrestling as well.

I didn't say anything regarding him as a prospect. I am simply commenting on what I saw in relation to this tournament. I'm pretty sure he's still going to be 18 tomorrow, so if he wants to win, he'll have to overcome that reality. He completely outclassed his first opponent and still gave up 8 points. This is after giving up 13 points to Japan in the last match he wrestled. I don't think he can wrestle that careless and win this tournament. But don't worry, I still think he's a very good prospect.. 2

I think when are you are making the presumption he is going to replace Mitchell up a weight from what he is currently wrestling some concern over him giving up 8 points to a guy who got teched at Asians 12-1 is warranted. LJB Posted October 16 Posted October 16 watching these prelim matches, i can understand why so many think U23 is steps below in terms of talent... it 100% is in leg grabbing... seen some just awful wrestling... as far as james... he did not look good at all in that win... it is not an indictment on him as a person...
