According to WrestleStat: https://www.wrestlestat.com/rankings/hodge

1. Spencer Lee

2. RBY (who according to Wrestlestat is somehow the #2 ranked 133 pounder -- Fix is #1 at 133)

3. O'Toole

4. Starocci

5. Fix

6. Parris

7. Robb

8. AOC

9. Carr

10. Woods

Not much to argue with here, seems about right.

Nino and Labriola are undefeated. Maybe they deserve a HM spot?

To be honest, when I evaluated the list I stopped somewhere around number 5.

Labriola is number 14 on the wrestlestat list. The only 197 they have in their top 30 is Tanner Sloan in spite of the fact that they only have him ranked #5 at 197.

They use four factors to create their list: 1.) wrestler rating, 2.) dual strength, 3.) opponent strength, 4.) win percentage. That does not match up well with the actual Hodge criteria.

Fair enough. In that case, I would think the list should be 6 deep... But I would be good with Tanner Sloan winning it as well.

And the Hodge criteria doesn't always match up with the Hodge voting.  That makes it very hard to have a watch list that uses data.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

I think the criteria matches with the finalist list that goes to the voters, but, yeah when it gets to the voters it is anyone's guess.

He's out unless Spencer takes a loss AND there are no undefeated NCAA champs.

Nonsense. If he is 4-timer, he should get it or at least share it. If Spencer does not win a title, he should win it outright.

That's not what I was asking about. The NCAA itself (at least I recall it being by the NCAA) had a single "most dominant" list. It was basically calculated by the mots team points per match.

That is what the the Match Power calc on Wrestlestat is, just caclulated by Wrestlestat instead of the NCAA.

It is possible. Brent Metcalf won it with a loss. As did Nick Ackerman, but there were extenuating circumstances there.

Interestingly, of the 8 finalists that year only 2 were undefeated. If it was the case that there just were not any more that 2 worthy undefeateds that year then maybe Yianni needs a lot more people to take a loss to make it to the finalist list, or maybe the 4th championship trumps other considerations.

He won't win if he has a loss.  Hodge is supposed to be the most dominant wrestler, primarily.  An undefeated Spencer 4-timer plus multiple undefeated 3-timers and 2-timers (RBY, Starocci, O'Toole) would trump someone who has losses this year, even if they are a 4-timer.
