Yeah... I was surprised that he wasn't seeded higher (Spratley)

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Just an observation in this tournament... are ALL the women trainers/FirstAiders  here... are they ALL thick?!?

(I mean... really? Or is it a local Ohio thing? Inquiring minds want to know.)

It’s the Midwest. Those are our women.

There's this one trainer on these mats... if you just look at her face (only her face)... she's pretty! But as you pull a way for the whole view, you would see her body doesn't match w/ the face!

Don't get me wrong, my late wife (Grhs... ) was a thick lady herself... AND was a good looker as well!😎

Stiles loses to Antoniov via 10-0 Tech then Birden beats Antonio via 15-5 Tech the next round.  Stiles did not outperform Birden.

Ruiz needs a last second takedown to beat a skating Swiderski 5-4 then puts it on Downey 12-4 in Round 1 of the Best of Three finals.

Swiderski has held his own here.

Swidz looked great, def should have beaten Ruiz. To Ruiz's credit, he is looking great as well, aside from his match against Swiderski, which felt to me like it leaned more in the favor of Swiderski and that he controlled the action more, sans allowing that takedown with 5s left

Spratley just on another level from Mauger. I can see Mauger getting his AA the next several years, was a little surprised he didn't make it happen this year. Mizzou has a good room

Noah Ninninger is my pick to be techs 157 next year over gaj, and I think he is going to be a serious problem. Tech had a lot of hype going into next year but it has only been ramped up after this weekend!

I hope this tournament isn’t any indication of next year whatsoever or the Buckeyes are in a lot of trouble…

I understand some of these guys who win U23 WTTs don't ever have a senior level career, but this selection process goes against what I thought USA always stood for. Coaches choice is not fair by any means, but I will wait to see who gets the spots before I can really say how I feel about it.

None of the U23 medalists from last year got the spot through U23 trials. It was all earned via Senior world team.

2024 had Cardenas medal and get the spot via U23 trials.  Messenbrink the other USA medalist and got it via seniors.

2023 USA had 4 golds and 3 of them earned the spot through seniors. Hendrickson was the one who got it through U23s.

I think it 100% makes sense to be able to get the spot through Seniors.

Hell, I even think that you should be able to get the spot for U20s through Seniors as well.  All Bassett did by being forced to go the U20 WTT route is risk hurting himself.  Blaze/Forrest should also get that option at 61 KG and not have to go through the trials process (which they chose Seniors over U20s.

That said, I don't think 'Coaches choice' should be the option.  Not unless the U23s champ (and probably even #2-#3 options) is unable to go.  I think it's bullshit, honestly.

I would think they go with the U23s Champ rather than an alternate choice, but they don't have to.

My guy Joe Antonio, a SJB product, winning his 8th straight on the backside with a 10-0 over Ethan Stiles. I had (still do) high hopes for him as a college wrestler.

Same. I love watching him wrestle.

I’d say Gaj 57, Noah 65. Noah wrestled 74 this weekend

I was curious to see who get choice for the u23 team. This is best I can tell the order of the team as it stands now. The guys in green have 1st choice of the spot except Blaze/Forrest and Robideau/Henson. The winner of those 2 will have choice. Camden McDanel is the only u23 champ locked in with every Sr. team member being too old.

The criteria for being the U23 rep doesn't list winning U23 trials at all.

McDanel is not locked in.
