I was curious to see who get choice for the u23 team. This is best I can tell the order of the team as it stands now. The guys in green have 1st choice of the spot except Blaze/Forrest and Robideau/Henson. The winner of those 2 will have choice. Camden McDanel is the only u23 champ locked in with every Sr. team member being too old.

Why is Kyle Dake not eligible?  🤔

The criteria for being the U23 rep doesn't list winning U23 trials at all.

McDanel is not locked in.

I'll believe they nominate someone else besides the champ when it happens.

That doesn't change the meaning of the term 'locked in' though.

Why would they change the way criteria is listed this year if they didn't intend to use it?

To give them some wiggle room in a narrow set of situations, like injury, where someone may not have been able to do the full process for the team.

I don’t actually think you are wrong, to be clear.

I just disagree with the terms Locked In.

It's just stupid that they changed criteria selection to this to begin with.

I'm fine with it. U23 is weird, might as well have weird domestic rules to match.

Otherwise you would see a guy who earned a senior world silver wrestling U23 a few weeks later, or a guy who was hosed in the senior bronze match win U23 gold a few weeks later, or a guy who earned a senior spot also won a bronze at U23 and gold at juniors. That's just weird.

You're right. Locked in is probably the wrong wording. Front-runner is a better one.
