Lawyers and business owners aren’t part of the working class?  Huh?  Not all lawyers and restaurant owners are rich.   And heck the fact that both of his parents worked is evidence they weren’t rich.  He grew up in a town where you can currently buy a 3 bedroom house for under $260K which is over an hour to the nearest “city” (and a small one at that), doesn’t seem like he was living the life of luxury, and he’s never claimed to have grown up poor.

And according to this article, he had a scholarship to the fancy boarding school before admitting he got kicked out.  He also said his mom still works to this day, so if he was that privileged she’d have retired by now.

Working and "working class" are different...

I know this is a revelation to you and many other 22 year olds, but some people enjoy working!

"Working" and "working class" are completely different, LOL!

Define working class then.  And will you admit you were wrong about what you called his grandfather’s house?

I have no idea about grandpa's house at this moment.  If I was wrong, I was wrong.  Renowned architects that design stuff like major airports tend to be above working class... just like lawyers are.

I dunno I think calling him a Nazi is pretty outrageous.

Umm...I'm pretty sure everyone on here is saying he definitely had a Nazi tattoo and is 100% closer to being an actual Nazi than Trump or any of his cabinet members.

Why are you and your ilk going out of your way ton defend a literal Nazi who liked Nazism so much he got it tattooed to his man breasts?

Not to mention he has some other significant character flaws...

Hey @Bigbrog, care to rephrase?  This guy just called him a literal Nazi.  Which is “outrageous.” If anyone reads the summary of his Reddit history and not just a few cherry-picked posts, it’s obvious he was AGAINST Nazis, not was one.

And the guy literally served on combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.   Not many spoiled rich kids that do that.

I personally know two wealthy prep school kids who served in combat.  One in the Navy and one in USMC.

I liked their parents, who were nice enough people and worked hard- but were not what you would call "working class."  One's family owned a regional chain of grocery stores; the others family owned multiple businesses including one that was contracted by the government to make parts for planes. (Not working class)

So you’re still not going to say how you would define working class?

LOL it is not how I define it, it is how actual dictionaries define it.  Common knowledge, bro.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the working class as the socioeconomic group of people who earn their livelihood through manual labor, physical work, or wage-earning jobs. Members generally hold blue-collar or service positions and fall into lower to middle-income brackets.
According to the official Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition centers on a few key characteristics:
  • Labor Type: Involves manual, physical, or wage-dependent work rather than intellectual, executive, or salaried professions.
  • Income & Assets: Members typically do not possess substantial wealth or property and generally earn an hourly wage instead of an annual salary.
  • Social Rank: It often represents a demographic with less social or economic power than the middle or upper classes.

Main point:

He’s very clearly not a Nazi.  Anyone on the right calling him one is just doing what they accuse the left of.

I’ve repeatedly said I don’t think Musk is a Nazi and I don’t think he did it intentionally, but what he did was a carbon copy of a Nazi salute.

Thanks for actually providing your definition.  To be clear, Platner has only called himself working class, not his parents.   He’s also given a lot of credit to his VA benefits, so while he has gotten some help from his parents, he’s acknowledged this, and it certainly doesn’t appear that his parents (or grandparent) left him significant wealth.    Of course the main thing voters care about is will he actually fight for them.  People knew Trump was rich coming in but he claimed he’d fight for them, and in his first term I think he did.   This one not so much.

It is not MY definition.  It is the accepted definition.

How you know it was a Nazi tattoos:

If it wasn't, it wouldn't have been covered up.  He would just show it to people and say "no it is just a really ugly skull tattoo I got back in the day."

Instead, he covered up the evidence and hoped it wouldn't get to this point.

"But he's more of a communist now, not a Nazi." I would argue that being a Nazi at any point in his life is the type of decision that should make him absolutely unqualified for public office.  Someone who makes a bad decision of that magnitude can't be trusted to make our nations laws.  Find another job.
