No, that’s not what he said

What is the difference between they should have tried harder and he wants them dead.

1.  They should have tried harder.   if they had they would be dead.

2.  He wants them dead.  If they had tried harder they would be dead.   Which is his reason for saying #1.

There is no difference here.   Interesting that you left out his quote in favor for my interpretation.

I'll put it another way.   The vet that got injured and got a commendation, Platner said should have died and shouldn't have got a commendation.    So that is what he said.

Platner reacted to a helmet-cam video of Daniels being shot four times by the Taliban in 2012 by stating Daniels "didn't deserve to live".   So what does that mean?  He deserved to die, that's what that means.   The guy is a creep.  And you apparently support such a creep.   The Ds had lots of other people 1/10 as creepy as Platner but they stuck by him.   Our elected officials are mirror of the electorate.   Hopefully he doesn't win the Nov election because that does not say much for the Maine voters.

He didn’t say that either.

in response to a post about a teenage girl who survived jumping out of a high school window was: "Someone clearly isn't trying hard enough."

I don’t think you are rational.

He said she didn’t try hard enough if she wanted to die.  He didn’t offer an opinion on whether he wanted her to die or if he felt she should try harder.

Glad I could be of service

Everyone with a rational brain knows he’s a trash bag for saying what he said.  You’re wrong boss.   @mspart is spot on.

Please describe how these two things are different in intent:
1.  she should have tried harder

2. she didn't try hard enough.

They say the same thing to me.

That’s the way we all see it.  I have it on authority that his arguments are a direct result of a steady diet of bananas and rice.

Looks like he’s probably a rapist, so good riddance.  He’s still not a Nazi though

It’s very interesting how different the parties handle stuff like this.
Kavanaugh has several sexual assault allegations and they kept him as their nominee.
trump was found liable of sexual assault and it’s not a deal to any of his followers or gop members.
platner gets an accusation and the dnc is making him drop and several high power dems have revoked their endorsement.

just and interesting observation between  standards of people and parties

He was not accused of sexually assaulting conservative women, liar.  And he’s not a Nazi. Rapist, seems like it.

You’re so bright, I bet your mom called you sunny.

Phillip questioned whether Democrats who had dismissed Fifield’s allegations were now reckoning with their response:

“It‘s been interesting to see some of those people who dragged this woman, Lindsey Fifield, who was in The New York Times story, they called it uncorroborated claims. You know, another person basically said that she was essentially a plant of the Republican Party. And now those people have changed their tune,” she observed, flashing tweets on-screen from liberal pundits and lawmakers.

She continued: “But I also think, like, is there an apology that needs to be had here? And some soul searching to be had here? Is it enough to just say, ‘Well, this woman, I believe, I didn’t believe the last one.'”

Phillip noted that Fifield had pointed this out to Gallego, adding: “It is fair to ask what’s up with people who have to look at the partisan identification next to your name before they decide whether or not they’re going to listen to you?”

Fifield didn’t accuse him of sexual assault, she accused him of grabbing her arm.
