N Carolina and Oklahoma are having a really good portal. But Iowa is right there.

Who has Nebraska Signed?

Feel like OU and UNC are doing some good things -- my favorite fit right now is McCrone to UNC. If Nebraska brings in VRob and Shapiro though, game over.

It doesnt feel like many programs have really had a net gain. UNC lost Jake Dailey and Jayden Scott who are both national qualifiers and have 3 and 2 years left. Okahoma lost Schubert and Schmidt, and a lot of their backups left the program. It seems Indiana is the only team with multiple transfers that had a net gain bringing in Kai Owen and Conor Barket.

I think Scott got pushed out by young talent, or at least there is enough highly regarded young talent there to make that not as big a loss as it could have been, losing Dailey wasn't ideal but we replaced him in the portal with what on paper at least is at worst and even swap, and I am high on the potential of bringing in McCrone. Remember the guy we brought in last year from Ohio State we turned into an AA (Hepner, aka the only wrestler to hold MM to a decision all season)

Schmidt was 8-16 last year and has career losing record and was the 33 seed at ncaas. There is some talk that Schubert might stay at Oklahoma and go 165 and they brought in Powe (2 or 3 yrs of eligibility) who I think AAs this year (he beat Bailey 12-6 last year),Eise (4 yrs of eligibility) who has a very high ceiling and Robb (2 or 3 yrs of eligibility) could AA . With or without Schubert Oklahoma off season has been a home run so far.

also Rutgers filled their biggest need with Herrera at 285 and the only starter they lost was going to be on the bench next year anyway so I’d say it’s definitely a net positive for them.

Penn State:

No one on the team has entered the portal and they return 155 points from the 2026 NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championship team.

Yeah I think Oklahoma has significantly improved their expected lineup for next season. I'm a little surprised that's up for debate. I do not think Powe and Robb necessarily AA, but they will both add more points for OU than what has portaled out thus far

Honestly waiting for Michigan to make a splash, I think they are an under-the-radar team that could make a push for the podium with the right moves. Zepeda would be a phenomenal pickup.

Everyone is saying Garvin to Iowa, but if he leaves, I think his style suits Michigan better. I think he'd partner up really well with Beau Mantanona in the room. Watching his match with Caliendo from '24, he's unafraid to go from that shot to an upper body lock (bear hug or inside trip), which reminds me a bit of Austin Gomez.

That said, all conjecture. Just looking at potential lineups, if they bring in Zepeda and Garvin I can see them making a run.

I think Robb AAs before he graduates , I think Eise could have a chance to AA maybe 2-3 times and I think Powe AAs this year as long as his head is in it after some time away nd in Juco

Agree on Eise and I think both Robb and Powe are in that boat of potentially reaching the podium before graduation, but more cautiously optimistic than you, I’d say.

Regardless, Oklahoma picking up 3 guys we are having this discussion over is a far cry from what they rolled out last season.

Furthermore, I’ve absolutely been wrong before and will be again, and I want more parity in the sport, so give me all the small school AAs and rehabbing programs cuz I’m here for it

The decisions of Provo, Knox, and Garvin to remain on the Farm is a testament to the culture being built at Stanford. I crown them 2026 portal winners.

Whelp, Nebraska just put any questions about who's winning the portal game to bed.  Go Big Red!

But they lost focus.  :classic_mellow:
