Did you see it?  Because, "ready to handle the situation" doesn't quite fit. Unless a full out brawl with fifty people is, "handling" it...

unfortunate it ended with a fight.

can i get you a tissue?

Unfortunate... you know who you're booking man and you set the precedent that incentivizes this behavior. You booked Arman a known hot head, then instantly rebooked him after he sucker punched a man on his knees. Setting a precedent of rewarding rather than punishing this exact behavior.

Then you booked Dillon Dannis who is know for taking things over the line and getting in fights in the crowd vs Khamzat who literally just struck his opponent at weigh ins less than a month ago.

Its not unfortunate its purposeful. What's unfortunate is that CWA is gone and that RAF is promoting trash behavior under the wrestling banner.

The site is down saying the ip hasn't been paid for. I wrote to the guy who runs it asking if its coming back about a month ago. He left me on read. I think its dead....

I cant believe Willie has the gall to waddle in here mouth full of chaw and say the brawl was unfortunate like RAF has any plausible deniablity.

Khamazat was tweeting after the first brawl he wished he could have been there and been a part of it.

Khamzat attacked his opponent on stage the day before his last scheduled competition (UFC)

Dillon Danis has a history of this exact thing happening multiple times at multiple different events.

And you're gonna come in here and act like RAF isnt trying to create that scenario and or the environment for it to happen. That might play with the casuals who dont know anything but itz just a lie. RAF knew exactly what they were doing and if they didnt (they did) then they are doing zero research on who they bring in which just makes them look like idiots.

And of course we all know as I've said probably 100× in here that RAF has made the behavior acceptable in their organization by rewarding Arman after the first suckered punch/brawl.

So just own it Willie. Don't be a liar, dont act like RAF doesn't want this. Tell me its show biz baby. But dont try to blow smoke. Its just adding insult to injury.

Meanwhile, this is how the 4 Nations Face-Off Final began last year, which the NHL parlayed into this season having the highest ratings in 14 years, and the Olympics final game being the second-most watched hockey game in history. People watch NASCAR to see crashes, otherwise they’d just do time trials. The most watched part of the World Series was when the benches cleared in Game 7. The Masters hired Jason Kelce to chug beers at Augusta. Clutch those pearls a little harder.

Here’s the difference, in my opinion. People watch hockey and know fights are part of it. As you said, they watch NASCAR for the crashes. People don’t watch wrestling for fights. That’s MMA.

The problem is two-fold. 1) The people (all of us) that care to watch wrestling aren’t enough to support a “major league”. The powers that be (Bischoff and Hogan) saw that and said “how do we get enough fans to make this a profitable business?”. The closest sport with names that have drawing power is MMA. They know exactly what they’re doing by bringing these guys, and I’m sure there were ALOT more viewers and tickets sold because Chimaev was on the card. If this is truly about promoting wrestling, bringing in people that are guaranteed to fight should only be temporary until the $$ support the promotion without the antics.

If it’s the opposite, that’s problem #2. If they looked at the UFC and said “we can’t compete in MMA, but if we can use their star power and replicate their model, we can be the next Dana White”. Using the guise of “help promote wrestling” to profit. At the end of the day, it’s a business, but it doesn’t sit well with me to make wrestling look bad just for money.

I personally would much rather RAF be represented by Keegan O’Toole than any of these clowns.

i'm not 'acting' like anything. i'm telling you. they were penalized. these guys will be penalized. there were conditions in place for the Poullas-Arman rematch. you obviously don't know

just stfu. it's very clear you have an axe to grind. if you don't like it, don't watch.

we take it very seriously. we were all disappointed. but there are fights in every sport. for f#cks sake there are fights in UWW events several times a year. MLB, NBA, NFL...fights every season. NHL it's literally part of the game.

Danis literally tried to choke Khamzat out. it's BS and i wouldn't be surprised if he's banned.

I do have an axe to grind your fuckking with my favorite sport. And im well aware fights happen in sports. I've been in fights in sports. The difference is you guys are actively hiring guys who have punched fans, brawled multiple times at events, and tweeted they wanted to be in the Arman brawl. Youre setting it up then throwing up your hands and acting like no one could have predicted this. You can say that about Arman vs Poulas 1 but then you rebooked it and rewarded the behavior with more money. You can not defend Chimaev vs Dannis. Anyone in the know can see why it was booked. Its bullshiit. Just be honest. Money over everything including integrity of wrestling.

Whyd you book khamzat vs Dannis? Didn't think they might fight? Never crossed your mind right?

I personally like Chimaev as a fighter and was excited to see him coming to RAF. I honestly think that was a HUGE get for RAF and great job by them making that happen. I think Dannis was the poor choice and the type of guy that shouldn’t be in RAF.  If you had put a “professional” against Khamzat, it would have stayed respectful and would have been awesome, plus the drawing power to bring more eyes.

Agree.  I’ve said before that I think bringing current UFC guys to RAF is cool.    But I don’t get the appeal of the has beens, or in the case of Danis, the never was’es.  It seems like this guy is pretty much famous for getting in fights at UFC events he wasn’t even participating in?

Just from watching it live, I didn't see Danis do anything. But I see it now.

A normal wrestling coach would ran in there to stop it. These MMA guys just storm the mat and attack.

Basically everyone on that stage was there to break it up. First glance, it looks worse than it was.

There was a guy in a sweatshirt, who I assume wasn't a coach since he wasn't in RAF gear, ran in their to jump Danis. Ref could have held back Khmazat and that be the end of it if it weren't for that guy(maybe).

As someone that has followed MMA a long time, and absolutely loves RAF, I was surprised with Danis’ inclusion.  Problems follow him everywhere, and I don’t think he brings much crossover value.  With that said, I’ll tune back in again next time.  Not because of any drama, but because RAF is doing far more to push this sport forward and provide long-term wrestling opportunities to men and women that would never have a platform like this without it.

He’s a fighter from Chechnya or has trained in Dagestan…and while not the same ethnic group there is some commonalities coming from the same region in Russia. These are not guys who will shy away from having each others backs. You try choking out a guy in a freestyle match regardless who escalates the physicality after their defend first and deal with consequences later.

Somebody asked Dana White at the 250 post fight press conference if he was concerned about his fighters getting hurt or getting into trouble after the fight at RAF. He said “If Dillon Dannis is the opponent I can guarantee you a brawl’s gonna break out”.

They are training partners and Arman is Armenian.

Arman has also trained in the mountain camps of Dagestan. I was talking about Khamzat is my post. I think i’m kind of missing what you’re saying here…Khamzat fights out of the UAE while Arman fights out of Armenia.

I'm saying they are training partners.  Literally training partners, that is why Khamzat wished he was there for the Poullas fight.  They train together and are good friends.
