There used to be a "street preacher" around here who used to yell that women deserve rape and got the police called on him for standing outside a local mosque while armed, yelling at people and ripping up the Koran. He stood outside of a high school and yelled stuff at the students there. Somebody didn't like it and hit him over the head with a baseball bat. If you do things like that for long enough, you might face some pushback, and it might not be very polite. So it's not necessarily a good or evil thing, it's about doing things that you know could provoke an irrational response.

Actually he ridiculed and shouted over people he disagreed with frequently. He was just a slightly more elegant troll. If it meant scoring points with his base supporters, he knew little boundaries in insulting people he opposed. So he wasn't some polite guy who would listen to everyone.
