  1. Past hour
  2. Thought he had a better approach here he wasn’t letting PJ on his legs he just folded match 2 and I think was mentally cooked after that. In my opinion the better wrestler lost but PJ is probably our future so I’m glad he will get the opportunity.
  3. Huh? What World team winner?
  4. I’ve been pessimistic with this team however the only weight I do not think we can medal is 79. I would say we have a less than likely shot at 65,79,97 but I think there is a world where we walk away with 7 medals. PJ,Trent,Real are by no means favorites but could certainly navigate decent draws Spencer,Wyatt, (whoever wins 61) zahid all should medal and I think carr and Snyder are probably 50/50 or better.
  5. has yanni ever changed his approach?
  6. Don't see how T&T help. He'd fit in well at Stillwater or I could see him doing well with Cross down at NYRTC
  7. I thought they wrestled a soft ball schedule so that doesn’t happen….. so they could wrestle here. All the jabs you specifically make at Iowa being unhealthy/injured there are a few on your list that are pretty injured…. And a few others that lost in a classless fashion and had to apologize on social media
  8. Your heart was in the right place
  9. I would like to apologize to yianni and team USA I feel as though I cursed him.
  10. lol you seem to be channeling your inner Jimmy ,Kerk blew out his knee at big 10s , Brooks had double pneumonia, van ness doesn’t wrestle much freestyle and Nagao is coming back from a major injury and BB biggest L was getting hitched
  11. I'd ask again why you are the way you are, but I'd get nowhere. Lee was a heavy favorite. Barr...was also a dog. Duke is a Sr in HS who wrestled a 4X National Champ. Did ANYONE think these guys were "unbeatable?" In fact, I think Flow picked these matches and...didn't they ALL pick this except for Mesenbrink?
  12. Why are they gonna help him blow out his other knee or help him continue the trend of losing to Penn state guys?
  13. I could see 7 medals or 1 lonesome bronze and neither result would surprise me
  14. I mean...I'm not saying you're "wrong." This is a totally subjective exercise to begin with and frankly a little pointless.... other than just BSing and having fun! Who's better, LeBron or Jordan, Brady or Montana...it's really all just subjective and people love arguing them. I think Dake, peak Dake at 149 was better at the NCAAs and would have beaten Caldwell. I also think Metcalf is right up there with Zain and anyone else at 149. That would seem contradictory, I get that. But I'm also thinking about that Caldwell 19-3 loss vs Metcalf in the same season he beat Metcalf by throwing the kitchen sink at him. I see a 149 NCAA Dake not being scored on, at LEAST not easily...and then just riding the hell out of Caldwell. But being as it's a fictional matchup... so you can't be wrong. I'd also argue that...149 when Caldwell won it wasn't particularly tough relative to any other year. Kyle Ruschell took a 3rd, Bryce Saddoris was in the semis. Both tough Wrestlers, but not quite like the prior year with Burroughs, and that "toughest weight ever," discussion. Brooks did lose to Marcus Coleman. That's my mistake. And yes, Askren being ahead of his time and you're belief that he was better at his "peak" definitely makes sense to me. All these make sense to me. Each point. Askren's... appearance also belied his strength and physical ability. I remember Dana White insulting him physically, but anyone remember him in on a single, arms stretched out, Jake Herbert, a BIG '74 pounder and Askren was on his stomach, Herbert was heavy hipping the hell out of him, he was trying to break his grip to get around behind and he couldn't. Askren's grip was insane and his shoulder strength AND flexibility was...just freakish. I don't think there's a Wrestler who could match him in that regard.
  15. So he didn’t say Luke sucks. Im confused.
  16. I imagine Zain/Cody/Casey have seen enough of Yianni’s tricks to help KD with a pointer or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. @Interviewed_at_Weehawken I blame you for bringing Jimmy over to the International forum that is usually a safe haven for the more intelligent crowd. You started a Jimmy style thread and desecrated a hallowed institution
  18. He always is so critical of himself to where it sounds a bit unhealthy. If you watched the post match show, he said that he isn't sure what's wrong with him but he keeps freezing, he wrestles well in practice then can't perform, that if he wrestles like that then USA isn't getting a medal at 57kg. Even Jordan was like oh stop it... He also pays too much attention to the haters. He said something along the lines that everyone always says he's an amateur at freestyle, then defended himself. Idk anyone who says Spencer isn't amazing at freestyle.
  19. To think dake went from 141 to ~190 ish from frosh year to now and was competitive in the finals for the world team is craaaaaaazy. 50 on 141 is more than 35%…. Wowza. I was 126/134 in college so call it a few lbs left (old weigh in rules) …. I probably would have ended at 142 as the cuts were brutal. The 190 lb dudes were huuuuuuuuuuige compared to me. Not in a million years would I believe it’s possible on any level.
  20. Worst team in a while? 2024 2025 57kg Spencer Lee (silver) Spencer Lee 61kg Vito Arujau (silver) Vito/Forrest 65kg Zain Retherford (no medal) Real Woods 70kg James Green (no medal) PJ Duke 74kg Kyle Dake (bronze) David Carr 79kg Jordan Burroughs (no medal) Levi Haines 86kg Aaron Brooks (bronze) Zahid Valencia 92kg David Taylor (bronze) Trent Hidlay 97kg Kyle Snyder (no medal) Kyle Snyder 125kg Parris (no medal) Hendrickson Last year we had 0 golds, and 5 total medals. This team may not have the big names of last years team, but I'd argue this team brings home more hardware than last year's.
  21. Think Yianni could use a change of scenery. TNT could be a good fit
  22. What u mean?
  23. I give credit to him for apologizing for his actions. Not sure why he’s posting on x that quickly after a match though…
  24. told ya he was gonna say he sucks.
  25. Duke pulled the overhook and lifted the ankle as soon as Diakomihalis started to apply hip pressure. It's almost like he was waiting for this position/someone scouted it.
  26. Thoughts: --Lee looks as good as ever. Not as quick, but yet he outwrestled Luke in neutral. Expected him to dominate on top, but thought Luke would be closer on his feet. --Woods' style seems to have really opened up. Mich was a good move. Don't see him medaling but you never know. Feel for McKenna. Yianni should've been here. --Holy cow, PJ. Does this settle the "best high schooler of all time" debate? Knocks off 2 defending NCAA champs and now a 4x'er. I guess Jax may have something to say in a month. That said, Yianni looked small. He should be at 65kg. --Carr got it done. Could easily have gone the other way. The cut in Mesenbrink's head was probably his biggest enemy as it caused lots of stoppages. Carr's just so quick though, and if he can keep his conditioning in top form, he can keep winning this matchup. Carr can medal. --Levi looks good and methodical, but I'm not sure I see a medal. Dake should be here. --Really happy for Zahid. He's really putting it together and you can tell how he's improved with Taylor. His conditioning is better too. Dake has no business being here. That's 2 world teamers that we lost because they're too lazy to cut weight. Sorry not sorry. --What a war. Psyched for Trent. Good battle. Trent can medal. --Snyder looks smooth, though I'm not sure Zillmer had much for him. --Wyatt got exposed there a bit. He can medal but needs to tighten up a bit. He's not going to be able to gut guys at worlds like that. Fun though. 2nd match, and 2nd match of PJ/Yianni, were ones for the ages. (Side note: CP needs to learn the difference between a 4-pointer and a 5 pointer.)
