  1. Past hour
  2. I look at 97Kg FS and see Taz. He did not look as dominant to me this year as he had a very close match before he lost. He won the 1/4 10-9. That is too close. He lost the semi 5-2, and won bronze 13-10. Definitely not the overpowering performances of the last few years. If someone had beaten Taz last year or the year before, you would expect him to be the champ. But Snyder on the other side beat the guy that beat Taz. So I believe there is a significant change that has happened at 97. Too bad Sad could not be there, there might have been a different result. But very happy for Snyder to be on top once again after so many years. mspart
  3. The US MFS team as a whole was the biggest overperformance. We went from zero gold / five medals between olympics + worlds to three gold / five medals including at our historically worst weight and there was the added significance that this was a near-full change to a new team with Snyder being the last-gen carryover. This was an awesome tournament and should be celebrated as much.
  4. Oh I see. So Homan didn't know they were undercover.
  5. Are you talking about Tyler Robinson? I thought he attended Utah State University not Utah Valley.
  6. Yes that one was bad which I called out previously. The clip @Caveira posted recently was not bad.
  7. Part of my reasoning for dake is that he has beaten kougi in the past at 74kg and I think both guys are probably most optimal at 79 at this time. Nohkodi I think was probably not in the same form this year he had torn his ACL at last years worlds so I do not know how much time he actually spent on the mat, generally aggressive recovery is 8-9 moths if everything goes well. As for usmanov and I have not seen a ton of people discuss it but he is either too big for 79 now or he lost a step. Saipudinov killed him in repechage and he had absolutely nothing for levi. I believe he narrowly won his match prior as well. More so my thought was if you give levi, kyle,JB the same draw I think they all get to the same point maybe JB or kyle win it KOT I am not as sure of. I think Hamiti could have a very promising freestyle career as well but he definitely has areas he needs to improve upon. Its also worth noting that Ruiz beat the Ukranian who pinned evloev (evloev pinned kougi this year) and only lost to Nohkodi 2-1 so Ruiz is also very much in the mix imo.
  8. It’s a bad look for a major influencer to say a brutally murdered person loved by so many is in hell.
  9. They were undercover as business men. Homan was offering insider connections for contracts in exchange for cash (allegedly). Standard corruption. It's exactly the kind of operation that Trump implicitly ran on when he promised to clean out the swamp. Unfortunately, his administration seems to throw the fish back if it has an R next to it.
  10. Today
  11. This may be a dumb question. What kind of contracts would an FBI agent be looking for?
  12. My top 2 are Levi and Zahid. Zahid's improvement was really just jaw dropping. Not just the one sided win over Ghasempour, but the dominating win in the finals against the Japanese guy who had absolutely demolished him 2 years ago. Levi I had as a likely DNP. But he knocked off a world champ, and was just a hair away from a world title. I've been whining for months about how Dake should've been at 79kg until the Olympics, and while that may still be true, Levi definitely shut me up.
  13. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't include Woods on this list at all, much less at/near the top. His bronze was unexpected, yes. But to me, the only thing surprising about Woods was his draw. Woods was maybe the 7th or 8th best wrestler there, but then when the draw came out, only one of the superior guys was on his side of the bracket, while the other bracket had the other 5 or 6 studs who are likely better than him. It was an extraordinarily fortunate draw that gave him a path to a bronze on Amouzad's coattails. To Woods' credit, he took full advantage of the gift that was given to him, wrestling to his full potential and avoiding any upsets. That's no small feat. But there's nothing I saw in his wrestling that showed me he's better than what I thought going into Worlds. If you draw that bracket 10 times, 9 out of the 10 times there's going to be more than one other stud in his side of the bracket and he doesn't medal. I see Woods as a Joe Colon or Brandon Eggum type guy... he unexpectedly got a shot at the world team and rode his draw to a medal, which is AWESOME, but the odds of him making another world team (let alone medaling again) are slim. Happy to have him prove me wrong.
  14. My bad. Down 10-2, huge difference
  15. The problem with politicians is both parties are full of crooks. And both parties ignore their crooks and yammer on about the other sides crooks. Then they rinse repeats this process every n years when the parties come in and out of power. That goes for the fans of the parties like you see on this board. I forgot who said it. And tbh it doesn’t matter but one argument on this board was trying to measure how bad person As comment was vs Bs comment. This is a function of what I described above as if you can articulate my bad comment was slightly less bad than your bad comment then you can start to look the other way regarding your party and continue to yammer on about how bad the other party is. term limits please. More term limits. Congress is trash. Local government is more corrupt and worse somehow.
  16. I think asking these two to do that might crater their collective brain power for the next few days, maybe the week.
  17. To echo others, center control is valued above all else. Also, there are certain rough time markers in bouts where someone will be called for passivity, no matter what, if scoring isn't happening. Then it's simply, " who's controlling the center less?"
  18. lock him up. pretty simple.
  19. Freestyle values different things. Carr was the aggressor as far as trying to create offense (at least to us folkstyle fans), but his back isn't to the center and he didn't finish the shots so it doesn't count to the refs.
  20. One thing I have always been consistent on is that if someone, no matter what letter they have after their name, broke the law in any way they should be held accountable. This holds true for Homan, if the allegations are found to be true. And honestly, I don't know too much about his specific case.
  21. I think the bribe went to the big guy
  22. Nolf made it seem so on Flo
  23. Willie just said Bo is visiting VaTech soon and he thinks he will make his announcement very soon, probably in October
  24. Is Penn State actually recruiting Bassett?
  25. True but still. Because Kent State opted in to the new law that means a couple dozen of the current kids on the roster will be cut! Ouch! Just when you think your spot is safe!
