  1. Past hour
  2. He wrestled 65 kg this weekend. I don't see him cutting an addition 18.3 lbs, making it on a consistent basis, and being any kind of effective.
  3. At 1 time during his HS career Keyonte was ranked the #1 hwt. in USA
  4. this whole thread is gaslighting
  5. Let's do some math: Jayden James, who is in the same 2026 class at Bo Bassett, wrestled in the U17 class and has three years of U20 eligibility starting next year. Bo Bassett, conversely, has only one year of U20 eligibility remaining. Melvin Miller, a *sophomore*, aged out of U17 and has to wrestle U20. Think about that.
  6. Bassett and Miller looked very good though
  7. Iowa fans have long clamored for a pushout rule in folkstyle. Well in Mocco vs Mirasola the wrestler who scored all the takedowns lost and the wrestler who won scored all his points on pushouts. Putting aside that the Iowa recruit lost, did Iowa fans enjoy seeing a match decided by who was better at pushouts?
  8. Duke looked quite a bit bigger than Miller to me, I wonder if his days at 70kg (and 157 in folk) are numbered.
  9. Oklahoma State had a great showing with a commit winning SRs and another winning U20. Cornell, Minnesota, Lehigh, ASU and Oregon St all snagged U20 golds. Illinois joined the party with an U17 winning gold. Penn State won 2 SR, 4 U20 and 1 U17. Iowa was blanked across the board.
  10. I thought this was about Luke losing weight.
  11. Miller is a better prospect than Bassett. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Junior range allows kids to be from 17-20. Melvin was the only HS sophomore competing to my knowledge.
  13. Today
  14. if you're not wrestling U17 and you are wrestling U20.... do the math.
  15. The last time they wrestled was December 2023 so I do think Luke is much better but it was 11-0 in 1minutes 26 seconds. Its hard to gauge from this US open field how luke stacks up against serious senior level medal threats. Spencer has 3 decisions in competitions where you would assume he peaked for in the last 2 years so even for Luke to go 6 minutes I think you could extrapolate that he is on that level. It is absolutely insane that there is a world that 3 sub 20 year olds have a better than 0 chance of making the team those being Luke,Jax,PJ. Bassett losing to Stanich puts a damper on expectations for him but none of the 65kg guys overly impressed me and Valencia who Bassett beat 3 times last year was right there to beat Mckenna.
  16. is this what you meant to write?
  17. Miller is may be a sophomore but he's a really old soph. There wasn't much of an age difference between the two.
  18. I am not arguing that he can’t compete with some of the senior level guys, what I was saying was that he is not ready to make Final X yet and there certainly isn’t any shame in that for the 18 year old. Regardless of who Pantaleo lost to this week, doesnt matter. What I saw between that match and His finals match tonight leads me to believe that James Green and Yianni would both eat him up right now prolly by tech fall. No clue what’s was up with the finals match tonight it was very un-Duke like for him not to shoot or be the aggressor at all. He will for sure have to change that up before next months senior event. We can do A over B and B over C so A over C all day but the fact is James Green has made the senior world team at 70kg every time he has put his hat into the ring since 2015 which makes Yianni’s victory even that more impressive. I don’t think he last a whole match with Yianni or James Green
  19. it’s not a big deal but he was speaking of Yianni the entire time and had no clue it was Candenas. it was funny but he made fun of himself
  20. US greco is atrocious* Better off to send NCAA high flyers such as Lovett and Andonian and Ramos who can let the fur fly since domestic isn't patient and technical enough to win high-level matches, much less medal. I will ask what do we have to lose at this point? We are already rock bottom and can't qualify most weights so why not?
  21. Bear claw graduated and then went somewhere else to use his last bit of eligibility to start. Not the same thing.
  22. I think he was talking about something else. He's referring to a folkstyle match between Luke Stanich (non Lilledahl) and Jax Forrest in an open tournament a couple seasons ago (in early 2024). Here's the match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yfyuxGo3lw It was Stanich's true freshman year at Lehigh, and he went on to take 4th at NCAAs. Forrest would've been a sophomore in high school at the time, albeit an older sophomore (probably 17).
  23. And maybe he'd have won it this year and then gotten bogged down with injuries or a savant like...Lockett/Duke if he had 2 more years. Hard to say. He was REAL close several times. A poorly Wrestled Match vs Mesenbrink from being in the finals in '24, but he won it and he seems to me to be a GREAT fit at 74KG.
