  1. Past hour
  2. Reading that first post reminded me of something I saw as a kid, around 35-37 years ago. There was an elderly Afghaninstani man who used to sell vegetables in our neighborhood with a pushcart. One day, while he was pushing it down our street, some officers showed up and arrested him for being undocumented. They took him away, and the cart—still full of vegetables—was left sitting there in the middle of the street. I’ve remembered that old man ever since. That image never left me.
  3. So true. 100% agreed. It will still fail miserably. But it won't be for the same reasons. Just new ones.
  4. So soon after?
  5. Today
  6. Yesterday, someone posted this comment on an Iranian football website. He was clearly a supporter of the Islamic Republic. He started by saying that football doesn’t matter when “1,000 of our loved ones” have been killed—by which he didn’t mean ordinary people, but IRGC commanders. Then he criticized the platform’s owner—who’s actually very popular among Iranians—for not condemning Israel’s attack. He ended his comment with “I’d die for my leader,” “I’d die for my country,” and included the Islamic Republic’s flag. Of course, by “my country,” he meant the Islamic Republic itself. Anyway, I wanted to share this so you could see the like-to-dislike ratio on the comment: 22 likes and 69 dislikes. One of the likes was probably from the commenter himself (the platform allows that). Obviously this isn’t a scientific or random sample of society, but based on what I’ve seen, I think the ratio of regime supporters to opponents in the general population might not be that different.
  7. The only verifiable idiot I see here is one who thinks he knows how I vote.
  8. I see that. And, in particular, I see that 1979 was 46 years ago. Probably something you need to rethink.
  9. No, not at all. Are you kidding? If you don't see Musk as a legitimate player here, you're confused. The rest of this story isn't written. Trump is the egomaniacal blowhard he's always been. And these "ideas" that are attributed to him all come from other people. Much smarter other people who gave donations to him. He is literally a King in that sense. Taking money from all and bought by the highest bidder as long as his ego allows it. His only interest is in counting his money. Policy can simply be sold to the highest bidder - very much like it's currently done in the middle east. NONE of his policies come from him, they all come from the highest bidders. (Yes, the Executive branch of the US Government is now run exactly like a sh**hole country in the middle east. It's true.) The rest of the Republicans run scared - even if they obviously disagree with Trump. They have to choose between career suicide or going along with the Trump pack and holding their nose for 3 more years. No surprise, politicians cave. BUT Musk knows all of this and has the money to shake it all up. And given Trumps approval rating slump - a lot of people still like Musk and see that he might be the less shady of both these shady guys. (Which I believe... slightly.) Is it all about trump? No. He's a puppet king and not a tiny bit more. At this point, it's all about Elon.
  10. Only white people would pay for it?
  11. I don’t see how it’s hypocritical to distinguish between legal and moral responsibility. A country can be held legally accountable for past or present wrongs—and reparations might be part of that, sometimes funded through taxes. But that doesn’t mean individual taxpayers are personally to blame. No one should feel ashamed for something their ancestors or previous governments did
  12. Just asking them to pay for it even though they had nothing to do with it.
  13. That’s not blaming the current white people though
  14. Really? You have no idea what the reparation movement is? Wow
  15. i'm sympathetic to what you're saying, but lets take the youth coach example, and for now keep it in the verbal domain, whats the line? Do you have a hard and fast rule? What is a "complete psycho"? Plenty of people look unhinged and are fine, but the most dangerous people are the opposite, so whats the change of policy we need?
  16. Who’s blaming current white people for what someone did 200 years ago?
  17. I'm glad Cleveland State was at least able to get a national qualifier with Daniel Bucknavich for their final season.
  18. Womens wrestling is on the rise which could help prevent programs being cut from title ix, like a lot of sec schools were. But the lack of profit from wrestling is gonna make it hard for most smaller schools to keep it around...
  19. How do we know Klingons aren't the biggest threat?
  20. I have no idea what he did, but can confirm he was kicked off
  21. I ASKED a question about it. So you agree that reparations shouldn’t be a thing? THANK YOU
  22. Omg. So dumb. Very few are proposing that checks get paid to people, based on skin color. It's not happening. You listen to too much rt wing propaganda.
  23. No but stop protecting people because they are a good coach or wrestler. People ignored Perry and his antics. It happens at all levels too. I know one highly regarded youth coach who was a complete psycho and I'm actually surprised he was allowed around children at all with his behavior. But a lot of his kids won so him being like that meant if you didn't want to be belittled and been subjected to his mood swings and erratic behavior, then you just weren't tough enough. That is more the norm than it isn't.
  24. How. Do. You. Think. It. Would. Get. Paid. For. ?????????? please explain coward.
