  2. InterMat's Class of 2025 Recruiting Rankings are way overdue - but also will be released very soon. Before they are posted, take a look back at some recent recruiting history. Team recruiting rankings from 2021-2024. Surpisingly enough, only six schools (Iowa, NC State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech) have made the rankings in all of the past four years. Penn made it once as an honorable mention and then was ranked the other three seasons. It's hard to consistently bring in ranked recruiting classes every single year. Will any/all of these appear in the 2025 version?
  3. Anyone know where to find old US Open and WTT brackets from the 90’s? Dooing some research and can find most info until then. Thanks!

  5. Speaking of the Snyder lack of interview, here is a comment from I believe one of Intermat’s correspondents (although the podcast is no longer called the Intermat podcast), saying that holding Snyder out was “egregious.” Starts at 19:00
  6. To answer the question: fan interest. Wrestling is a tiny, tiny non-revenue sport that has 0.001% of the fanbase of football and basketball. No money = no media interest.
  7. Make Press Briefings Great Again. "The challenge is the same every year. The battle is in-state. The battle is Big Ten and regional. The battle is national. The battle is planet Earth. If they find life out there, then the battle will be universal." - Tom Brands
  8. Agreed, but I think this has been studied.
  9. Do you think The nil transfers out of Iowa football has had an impact on their(bob and donors) nil rules or prepayment conditions. Also the Raineys efforts and their sudden change of course in both Iowa NIL and Bo's eyes. Also if Nebraska interest comes up the JB workout would be considered the final influencer!
  10. What would be more interesting to me is to study the type/personality of a person that turns into a Christian/Muslim Fundamentalist and uses religion to justify the killing of other people. To me that is where the understanding probably starts versus focusing on the religion. But who knows maybe this has already been done.

  12. I must have missed something...are we at war with anyone??
  13. Headline: Trump Cures Breast Cancer RV and the like: Total FAIL by Trump!! He didn't even cure the most common kind of cancer! Most of breast cancer patients have positive outcomes anyway...he is such an overweight orange failure!! (screams into pillow in his/her/their mom's basement)
  14. Are you trying to be the cinnamon pastry guy but on the NWT board?
  15. Someone's been hitting grandma's cough medicine again....
  16. It's not obvious to me. It's obvious to me that POSITION and marketability plays a role. People tried to do this with Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark, suggesting Clark got paid because she was a "pretty white girl." Someone then pointed out that'd be like saying Larry Bird got deals because of his good looks. But even then, that'd make more sense as it was Boston in the 1980s. No, sports is a meritocracy now. It's just like the NFL. Running Backs aren't making less because they're primarily black, they're being paid less because the position has become undervalued. These schools want to keep the best players. If Jerimiah Smith, a guy who'd probably be a top 3 WR in the NFL RIGHT NOW...wasn't good, he wouldn't be getting ~5M in NIL. But he's a freak WR. He's like a mix of Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson. The ONE area I can't speak with as much confidence would be Women's niche sports. We all know why Livvy Dunne getsa paid. Are there Black Gymnasts who are as attractive and as high profile that aren't? I don't know. I know Simone Billes and Serena Williams made a massive amount of money in endorsements(and continue to).
  17. I honestly don’t really blame the media, I blame the programs. It seems their fear of “being cut off” is legitimate, IIRC I think those types of threats were basically what led to the situation that ultimately caused Willie to leave Flo. It would’ve been nice for someone to push the Snyder issue, but I’m sure they would’ve just said “we can’t comment on an ongoing legal matter” or something anyway.
  18. You didn’t cite several studies, you cited one, if we want to call it a study, it was based on a google survey, only asked about “expectations” and not actual earnings, the “expectations” were opposite of what you claim, and it didn’t have the highest earning sports well-represented. The other links you posted were just media articles, and were focused on women’s sports. I agree that there’s a racial disparity in women’s sports. But the majority of NIL dollars are spent on men’s sports, mainly football and basketball. I did analyze the data I posted. 55% of the top 20 valued players are black, with them having 52% of the dollar value. You were the one that kept citing that “51% of NCAA athletes are people of color,” so the numbers are in line with that. Speaking of, will you at least acknowledge that your claim of “people of color only get 16% of NIL dollars” is complete nonsense? That was the main thing I was trying to point out. If we can agree on that, sure I’ll agree that the % of players on top football and basketball teams that are black is higher than 50%. But again, the value that the top white football players have is almost entirely driven by being a quarterback. Again as I mentioned this is very similar to who’s the highest paid players in the NFL, actually looks like based on last year’s salaries the top 20 NFL salaries are more skewed toward whites than NIL valuations: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-25-highest-paid-players-2024/694fb43f95a9784f4724647d Of the top 21 paid players in the NFL (there was a tie for 20), 11 are white, 10 of which are QB’s. And NFL teams care way more about winning Super Bowls than social media followers.
  19. And the facts are now in... 'They have no choice but to "play along"' - says JimmySpanks... and he's... WRONG [BUZZ] 'Ya. Let's see what happens if they don't" - says JimmySpanks... and it's... NOTHING [BUZZ] As expected by all, JimmySpanks is nothing more than a big fat mouth with a tiny brain. We have just witnessed the birth of another extremely expensive Forever War thanks to our orange disgrace of a leader. If Musk were to come back to fire more people, he'd have to fire many hundreds of thousands to pay for the bombing fiasco that barely scratched the surface of Iran's mountains. (If only the tiny brains around here could grasp the concept that this is actually a giant problem for all of us. Take your MAGA hat off long enough to use your head for more than holding up that hat. Trump has the country in a downward trajectory. And nothing is on the horizon that looks to turn that around.) Get ready for much higher gas prices, higher inflation, and our economy to run wildly off track.
  20. Do you lack the ability to pick up on ALL context? Go back and read the thread, what post did I agree with? Explain to me where I made ANY inference that there was ANYTHING wrong with that? Why are you the only one that needs every position explained?
  21. A better way would be to do it with respect for their humanity, with due process, and with public transparency. "Quickly" is the least important thing here. Literally absolutely everything else is more important. Unless you prefer that we run the USA like China does their country. I'm not in favor of that. In the US, we've always done it better. I'd like to think we still can. (Too bad ICE is ruining that.)
  22. No. You're 100% right. You fools appear to be unaffected by logic, rational thought, and anything that resembles wisdom. Cool. (Aside - Husker, why do you insist on creating this fictional group of fools? We have enough real ones here.)
  23. Once again. You lack reading comprehension. He was Wrestling 95 during his hold back year. This means that if he would have wrestled as a freshman that year, he would have weighed in at 11 pounds under 106 at Super32 just a month and a half before the high school season, not a year. Honestly, do you even try to understand what you're responding to? Side Question: When has Bo ever cut a significant amount of weight? He's jumped weights every year of high school and only sought out the toughest competition. Please don't try to answer because I'm sure you're as clueless on this topic as any of the others regarding him. I'm not even a Bo Bassett guy, but the way you and the rest of the ignorant haters make false statements about him, his age, and his "advantages" is just absolutely ridiculous.
  24. Cool. I don't know what you're babbling about today, but you still...shockingly couldn't answer the question. Who said; Just asking who ever made this claim... You guys sure like the "liberals say...." and then...kinda make up your own little theories, don't ya?
  25. You're getting at relativity, which is fine. But if we're going to make relative arguments, my view is that although compared to the field, Spencer is a good scrambler, it's probably his weakest skill. He is an absolute beast at muscling guys around and putting them off balance and then taking them down on his feet, and he is a killing machine on top. Those are dominant skills that he is the best at by far. In scrambles, however, his opponents have had far more luck in getting into winning positions and tagging him with his very rare losses.
