What Happens When You Qualify Ten?
steamboat_charlie replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
The second chart is interesting. Two takeaways from that at a glance: 1) The old PAC schools were underrated, historically speaking. Presumably due to lack of competition and rankers not respecting their schedules. Kind of doubt that will still be the case moving forward. and 2) Big 10 guys in the middle tier of their respective weight classes tend to outperform seeds. I think people are generally aware of this--a Big 10 wrestler with a ~.500 record can still be quite dangerous at NCAAs, but will probably be seeded in the 20's. Interesting to see some data backing it up. -

I didn’t think supporting a duel championship was a thing in PSU threads …. oh wait. D-U-E-L. My bad.

I want to see Mesenbrink against an adult male chimp, mono a mono, scratch weight. If it's jungle rules, surely the chimp wins, by using its treacherous tactics. However, if you make face ripping, eye gouging, and genital biting all illegal it might be a good match.

The DOJ didn't really have a choice. I mean they could have lied, but I don't know if they want to do that and get sued.

Not sure how we’re defining “rich.” Maybe Rob Koll?

I'm drunk.

I understand the individual words you are saying, but not when they're put together in a sentence like that

Yeah, folks on here have speculated that some programs will get around the roster cap via clubs/RTC. And while fully funding 30 schollies is a nice idea, donors wouldn't do that because there are alternatives that would likely produce better returns, like donating to the RTC, funding new facilities & equipment (and maybe having your name attached to it on a plaque, which a lot of donors dig), or giving elite guys outside NIL deals to keep them on the roster. None of this applies to Iowa ofc, because we're obviously

Gomez VS Green & Spencer VS RBY are the matches i think could be good. It'll be interesting to see if the gap gets closer or wider for RBY. Gomez looked great in Iowa City for the Flo card -
does the Gorilla get the win if he defeats one Mesenbrink by pinfall or must he pin all 100?
-
Not that I'm aware of and I would likely have heard if so.

I didn't think the NCAA still started the 5in4 eligibility clock for international transfers or even NAIA or CC kids anymore. Like there are Euro bball players who get 4 years of eligibility when they transfer here. Maybe they weren't full time at their old unis though, idk.

unlike the constant lies have impacted you though. mspart -
... but will that Steveson dude give up pickleball for this?

A guy earlier in the thread said Ono already had 3 years of college in Japan.

I'm pretty sure we could solve the global energy crisis with 100 Mesenbrinks

A number of allegations have been made here with no evidence. That is how the press says it constantly. mspart

Maybe Cael only filed for a one year student visa? There's already a bit of a logjam and a roster cap, and it's not like Ono could hit the transfer portal if things don't work out.
