I'm gonna have to side w luchador on this one. When was the last time you were in a Christian church? Full of whack job extremists. I'd think about packing around those people too.

I am sure this was part Bill Bassett's complaint. But we also don't know how the Iowa AD/Compliance views wrestling. The AD stepped in to stop AJ getting admitted after the double bird, they had the gambling issue to deal with and just recently had to make a public statement (or lack thereof) about William's arrest. It's entirely possible the AD said, no we are not going to risk a violation on this (pure speculation on my part). David Taylor is the new penny on campus and just had success that is bringing positive attention to the school. With Paycom bring in new revenue, maybe OSU is just saying screw it, the NCAA lacks teeth and we will do what we want. It also raises the question of who pays for the flights? Bo's NIL deal with Bob Nichols was already agreed upon and now with revenue sharing, who pays for flights if Bob says I already giving you $5M. that flight money has to come from Revenue Sharing. Maybe OSU NIL deal with Paycom included flights to Stillwater and Bill Bassett is just upset he didn't get the best deal. My point is there is a lot we don't know. It seems very unlikely Brands would say Bo couldn't train there unless compliance or paying for it was an issue. So if its out of Brand's hands and that is the reason Bo de-committed then it probably wasn't going to work anyway. I agree with the notion that Bassetts are probably at fault and Brands could of handled it better and been a little softer around the edges. But I doubt he committed to Iowa because he thought Brands would deliver every message with sunshine and roses.

The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
Wrestleknownothing replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
That does bring things much closer. In 2023 and 2024 the 3-2 match was the most popular with 6.9% of full time matches (6.8% of all matches). While 2024 and 2025 saw the 4-2 score top the list with 7.9% of full time matches (7.1% of all matches). -
Hopefully this means the hostages in Gaza will be released.

The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
Doublehalf replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
For me just going by the eye test, close matches just don't feel as close and the optics of a guy on ice skates for two minutes at the end of the match is not a great one to watch... I definitely think that offensive wrestlers should be rewarded with the 3 points but there also needs to be some kind of counterbalance for the other wrestler to score in more ways than just stall calls at the end of a match when the other wrestler just shuts it down ie. push out potentially. There has to be another tweak that can make matches feel close again and not be as boring to watch which I really noticed in this past years' finals. -

Chuck Norris can't act. But he can do many incredible things. Chuck Norris CAN divide by zero.

The 3-Point Takedown: Friend or Foe?
Wrestleknownothing replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
I excluded TF because I wanted to focus on matches that went the distance. But even if you include TF the direction does not change. The impact is more muted, but still large. Including TF, one take down matches then were 5.1% and now are 7.1% (+39%). There is no impact on zero takedown matches. They still rank 9th now vs. 27th then. I will come up with a way to illustrate the noise. -
I see what you did there. Nice.

Now the opposition in Iran needs to finish the job. It’s hard to see the regime have much credibility after this. How can they get their ass handed to them by “puny little” Israel with no real response, have the US put the nail in the coffin, then agree to a ceasefire imposed by the US and go back to chanting death to America, death to Israel? Even the most die hard supporters are hanging their heads right now.

Jesus fookin Christ dude. There was nothing racially motivated about that post whatsoever. For someone who obviously lurks on HR like it's a part time job I guess you missed the many posts Bnicky has made that were positive about Iowa wrestlers, including Buchanan and Real Woods? Gabe Arnold apparently was partying, or at least not taking training seriously last off season. Perhaps he is reverting to some of those habits this off season and that is what Bob was referring to. I get that you are a passionate hater but this is utter weak sauce and limpdick behavior Edit: Bnicky gives me the creeps and this post wasn't an endorsement of his posts or behavior across carte blanche. Rather, I think the attempt to take this a point it doesn't need to go to is what I was railing against

But but but you’re not usually on this site unless it’s because of having extra time in a waiting room.

Nope. Or day 1 Great Depression either. Right Scroogie?

Ignore what? He said “the trends are down but the threat hasn’t gone away”

He brought up Jax in passing. Being on a different platform vs a message board I think he did a good job threading the needle and being respectful. Starts @13:00. Goes on for a decent 15 mins

That is kinda important. Did Willie bring up the jealousy part?

Next thing you’re going to try to get me to believe your real name isn’t scourge. I’m gullible, but not that gullible.

Willie said all of that in his podcast this morning except for the yelling part

Schwab is no DT, but he definitely would move the needle
