Yeah I think there is a real benefit to redshirting in a lot of cases, for guys to get used to both college life and D1 athletics. We would lose that if we got rid of redshirts, but for parity reasons I don’t hate the 5 for 5 idea that seems to be likely because it should encourage more guys to transfer out of Penn State. Cornell would probably be at an advantage over most other schools if the NCAA got rid of redshirts (assuming the Ivy allows 5 years of athletics participation), since they’d probably still do their greyshirting program which my understanding is a bunch of the guys need in order to get accepted into the school.

I feel exactly the same. I've never rooted for him in a match, but it's silly how he gets treated. If people want to find things to attack a HS kid for, they're always going to find those things. I wish more of the kids I coached were obnoxious and super hard working. I'd have a pretty easy job if the biggest issue I dealt with as a coach was a kid knew where the camera was.
