All but 50 or so schools have opted-in so at this point, it's might be easier to see which ones have opted-out of revenue sharing. For wrestling, I believe the schools are the Ivy League + Air Force American Bellarmine Binghamton Bucknell Citadel Gardner-Webb Lehigh Mercyhurst Navy Presbyterian Queens VMI JB probably has a complete and accurate list on his website

Sucks. I think Wyoming and UNI have new facilities in the works too? Can't remember who else. I think UNI will be funding its new wrestling facility 100% through direction donations, so hopefully it'll continue forward. However, UNI's athletic department hasn't been self-sustaining for at least a decade, and gets funding from the university's general fund to keep sports afloat. That's not a huge surprise, since the MVC doesn't pull big media money; but UNI athletics has opted-in to revenue sharing and it's unclear what its path forward to self-sufficiency is, especially when the BOR is under pressure to stop transferring money from academia to athletics. There was a proposal in the state legislature for Iowa and ISU to share a % of their sports revenue with UNI, but that was shot down to no one's surprise. Tough road ahead, haves vs. have-nots, etc. Panthers insiders here may have details on what's happening.

That article’s about how the media shapes and controls public opinion in the U.S.. If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, just take a look at this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Noam_Chomsky?utm_source=chatgpt.com Criticism of United States democracy Chomsky maintains that a nation is only democratic to the degree that government policy reflects informed public opinion. He notes that the US does have formal democratic structures, but they are dysfunctional. He argues that presidential elections are funded by concentrations of private power and orchestrated by the public relations industry, focusing discussion primarily on the qualities and the image of a candidate rather than on issues.[55] Chomsky makes reference to several studies of public opinion by pollsters such as Gallup and Zogby and by academic sources such as the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland (PIPA). Quoting polls taken near the 2004 election, Chomsky points out that only a small minority of voters said they voted because of the candidate's "agendas/ideas/platforms/goals."[55] Furthermore, studies show that the majority of Americans have a stance on domestic issues such as guaranteed health care that is not represented by either major party.[56] Chomsky has contrasted US elections with elections in countries such as Spain, Bolivia, and Brazil, where he claims people are far better informed on important issues.[57]

Not that it had much impact on the final result but not giving Caliendo concussion protocol in the finals might have been the worst single call of the year.

I don't know about the rest of the MAC schools, but it's hard to see the PSAC schools - which, of course, compete in D2 in all sports except wrestling - ever opting in to revenue sharing with their athletes, especially given their financial situations. All of Bloomsburg's roster spots should be safe - BU needs those tuition dollars to keep flowing. Long term, don't be surprised if schools that don't opt in market themselves as "no cut". They won't compete with PSU, Iowa, etc., but more kids wrestling at more schools is, in my opinion, a good thing.
-
10-4 was just arguing about that with a head D2 coach. But will have to happen? So what is the deadline for say Bloomsburg? They got like 55 kids on roster!

Nah, I never said random people off the street should be running the country. That’s not what I meant at all. If you’ve got time, check out this article.

No. That's not happening this year...

I do not deny that. But they would do a better job? That stretches incredulity. mspart

what are his chances to start against Mesenbrink
-
Also, @TNwrestling, see below. my Brosef. I should have proper nouned that bitch - my apologies.
-
I might get him on the mat, but I am also not in too shabby of shape. 134lb 1988 version of me would beat the piss out of me... but I am still pretty scrappy for an old dog. Still get all the kids at the open mats.
-
So is there an official list of D1 wrestling schools that have opted in? I know all the P4 schools are in. Does anyone know if say one of the MAC schools like Buffalo, Ohio, Kent St opt in does that automatically make them have to reduce their rosters to 30 kids immediately? That would result in a heck of alot of cutting

For the record, I’m against adding beach wrestling. -
Taking this into consideration I would likely predict Henckel to DNP and Mcnelly to take silver.

Lets put a hypothetical in the mix. P J Duke hits a growth spurt and cant make 157 next year.

The coaching carousel is a hypothetical action where, once one door closes, another one opens. Usually, school A hires a coach from school B, who now has a vacancy, and turns to someone from school C. Round and round the carousel goes all spring and summer and even into the fall. The carousel tends to have its ebbs and its flows. There may be no action for a week and then that crucial domino falls and creates a spark that leads to multiple hirings and vacancies. This has been the case for the last week. Our last coaching update centered around a pair of hires by Kent State (Fred Garcia and Devin Schroder). That means that there is now a head coaching and assistant coaching vacancy at Binghamton - Garcia’s previous home. Schroder came to Kent State via Wyoming. Wyoming didn’t take long to announce a replacement for Schroder; they’ve added Josh Heil to the Cowboy staff. Heil spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Campbell. During his three years in Buies Creek, Heil helped eight wrestlers earn NCAA qualifying bids, including one All-American. The Camels also claimed one SoCon title during his time on the bench. Heil also wrestled at Campbell and qualified for the NCAA Tournament on five occasions. He made the SoCon finals every year he competed, winning three times. During the 2020 season, Heil was named a first-team All-American by the NWCA after the NCAA Championships were cancelled. That year was one of two in which he earned top-eight seeds for the tournament. With Heil leaving Campbell, they now have a pair of openings for assistants. This comes after assistant coach TJ Dudley was elevated to become the program’s head coach on Sunday. Today, we’ve seen Lock Haven announce their latest hire - 3x NCAA All-American Brock Mauller. Mauller was a three-time MAC champion during his career at Missouri. He got on the NCAA podium as a true freshman with a sixth-place finish at the 149 lb weight class. As a sophomore, Mauller was also named a first-team All-American. He then finished fifth and seventh at nationals in the years that followed. Mauller started his coaching career midway through the 2024-25 season as he was hired by Northern Colorado. Of course, with him moving on to Lock Haven, that will open a spot on Teyon Ware’s first staff at UNC. Lock Haven had an opening because 2018 NCAA runner-up Ronnie Perry has stepped away from his position with the Bald Eagles. We’ll see if he fills one of the positions available below. We’ve re-added Lehigh to the list of opening positions. In June, Sammy Sasso was hired by the school as an assistant. His recent arrest seemed to put that hiring in jeopardy. The school had Sasso listed on the website as a coach at the time of the arrest, but since then, he’s been removed. Coaching Changes Army West Point: Troy Nickerson (Head Coach) Binghamton: Brevin Cassella (Assistant Coach) Brown: Tyler Grayson (Assistant Coach) Campbell: TJ Dudley (Head Coach) Illinois: Eric Schultz (Assistant Coach) Kent State: Fred Garcia (Assistant Coach) Kent State: Josh Moore (Head Coach) Kent State: Devin Schroder (Assistant Coach) Lock Haven: Gavin Hoffman (Assistant Coach) Lock Haven: Brock Mauller (Assistant Coach) Long Island: Jay Nivison (Assistant Coach) Mercyhurst: Jimmy Overhiser (Head Coach) Missouri: Keegan O’Toole (Assistant Coach) NC State: Malik McDonald (Assistant Coach) North Dakota State: Willie Miklus (Assistant Coach) Northern Colorado: Teyon Ware (Head Coach) Oklahoma State: Kevin Ward (Assistant Coach) Penn: Matt Valenti (Head Coach) Princeton: Ryan Wolfe (Assistant Coach) Purdue: Matt Ramos (Assistant Coach) RTC/Club Lee Roper (Cowboy RTC) Open Appalachian State: Assistant Coach Bellarmine: Assistant Coach Binghamton: Assistant Coach Binghamton: Head Coach Campbell: Assistant Coach (x2) Drexel: Assistant Coach George Mason: Assistant Coach Lehigh: Assistant Coach Little Rock: Assistant Coach Maryland: Assistant Coach Michigan State: Assistant Coach Northern Colorado: Assistant Coach Northern Iowa: Assistant Coach Oklahoma: Assistant Coach Oregon State: Assistant Coach Penn: Assistant Coach

Remember this take when we cheer for the inclusion of beach wrestling next to freestyle AND Greco-Roman wrestling at a future Olympics. That being said, as the father of a (maybe former) competitive swimmer, you can have breaststroke. My son and I joke its "anti-swimming" - swim slowly as fast as you can. My son is a sprinter and could never muster any enthusiasm for it it. -
