  1. Who's bumping up for the biggest events? Yes some bump up when the level of competition is low. But I don't see many bumping for S32, Fargo, Ironman, etc.
  2. Sounded like DT wrestled with Hendrickson a lot.
  3. Best thing I've read all day. You win.
  4. Sorry, I should have rephrased. I meant high level HS wrestling. The top HS wrestlers are cutting weight the same way the college men do.
  5. Cutting weight is part of the deal. I like it being a part of our sport to be honest (at the high school and college levels only, I'm against it in age groups below that). It teaches self-disciple, dedication, determination, etc. No one is making you cut weight (or at least they shouldn't be). So if you don't like it, go up a weight. But I think it's a great part of our sport. Now that doesn't mean the process is fun, we all know it sucks. But, the cutting weight strategy has changed a great deal. It's no longer about starving yourself etc. If you do it the right way you can still perform at a high level.
  6. Qualified in 2019 as well. Had multiple career wins over AA's: Hunter Willits (who eventually beat David Carr), Christian Pagdilao, Matt Kolodzik (2x), Max Thomsen, and Ronnie Perry (finalist). Yea I'd say considering the injuries Ke-Shawn had a hell of a career.
  7. I'm sure he's much happier with 2nd than DNP.
  8. He made the round of 12 in 2018. Not sure if I'd call that 'flaming out'.
  9. Frenchie Thompson sounds like a 1980's rockstar...and I like it.
  10. Yes it does.
  11. One guy has won 7 matches at NCAAs, other has won 3. I know who'd I'd rather have.
  12. Ask Spratley if he jumped levels. Fair point.
  13. One guy AA'd and one didn't. PERIOD.
  14. The way our sport is currently structured, NCAAs is the only thing that matters. Ask any college coach.
  15. We're defining people by closes losses now? The point I was making that Gilman helped Spratley get over the hump. From losing matches like that, to winning them. From R12 to 2nd.
  16. Yes, and lost both. What's your point?
  17. D'Emilio was a returning AA from the year before. And there's a HUGE difference between 8th and R16. You have to win two more matches against some of the best dudes in the country. It's a big difference.
  18. Jett had 3 losses at 125 this year: Figs, Ventresca, and Caleb Smith. Wins over Spratley 2x, Stevo, Rivera (bloodrounder), and Anderson (bloodrounder). He was good this year, period.
  19. Who said HOF? I was just saying the guy is a good coach, when @bnwtwg said he wasn't.
  20. That wasn't @bnwtwg argument though.
  21. Spratley went from losing 2x to Tanner Jordan, including once in the bloodround, to majoring him 10-0 this season. I would say that is a level jump. And in regards to Vincent Robinson loss, Vincent was multiple time Super 32 AA, Fargo AA, Ironman AA, Powerade Champ, etc. and was the #50 overall recruit in the class of 2023. Let's not act like he was a scrub. Get real.
  22. You serious? Troy Spratley went from R12 to national finalist (with a win over the dude that beat Spencer Lee) and sounded like he was working almost exclusively with Gilman. I'd say the dude can coach, and coach well.
  23. I agree on Ech. But E Frost is gonna need to cut down to 133 again to optimize their lineup. 125: Castillo 133: E Frost 141: J Frost 149: Ech 157: Paniro 165: Euton/Riggins 174: Gaitan 184: Dean 197: Elam 285: Yonger
  24. I assume Kennedy is working mostly with the middleweights. 141-165 range if I had to guess.
