  1. I think it may be competitive in the room, but I don't see them even being in the same tier in terms of NCAA scoring potential.
  2. You could very well be right. It will be interesting to see and I trust the staff to put the best guy on the mat.
  3. Yes I agree. And my rationale for TT over Jamison at 157 is few things: TT has more offense. Jamison is very counter reliant. Off of this, TT went 2-2 at 157 and made the R16 in 2024. Then was set to go 157 again this year (with Fish RS), and got hurt early on and so they pulled Fish out. Then TT ended up dropping to 149 for B12s and NCAAs. Long winded way of saying I'd like to see how much TT jumps levels with a full season under this staff and at the right weight. Seems as though Jamison wins a lot of matches/positions based on sheer power and strength. I'm not sure if he has the same advantage up even weight, let alone two.
  4. As a cowboy fan, I'd rather have TT than Jamison at 157. My ideal lineup is: 125: Spratley 133: Figs 141: Jamison 149: Swiderski 157: TT 165: Dee 174: Facundo 184: Ryder 197: Merrill 285: Doucet
  5. Let's not act like Vincent was a dog in HS. He was top 10 in the country most of his HS career. He was multiple time Super 32 AA, Fargo AA, Ironman AA, Powerade Champ, etc. The 'never a state champ' stat is very misleading. As a freshman he lost to Josh Koderhandt (who was a junior at the time and AA'd this year for Navy), soph. state was canceled because Chinavirus, junior and senior years he lost to Lemley. So it's not like he was losing to scrubs.
  6. Hip surgery = at least 1 national title. Only Mr. Pastry
  7. Imagine how fun this thread would be if we were talking about transfer portal news and not all this other crap...
  8. That's yet to be seen. He went 12-11 at 174 as a freshman including 0-2 at NCAAs. That does not scream "starting spot locked" at a top 3 program in my opinion.
  9. And not too mention Kennedy had a great year at 174 and Angelo is a bonafide title contender at 184. A lot of moving parts for things that will become uncertain.
  10. Yes, it’s a business. These coaches need/want to win, period. It’s literally their job to win, and if they don’t win they get fired (or at least some do, wrestling actually doesn’t like firing coaches like the big sports do, but the point is the same). So if they have to recruit someone that gives them a better chance to win, they’ll do it and won’t think twice about it.
  11. You’re very persistent with the “Caliendo is going 157” bit and it’s hilarious.
  12. Same can be said for Shapiro. Probably even more so.
  13. I'll play. 125: Robinson, Lilledahl, Spratley, Ventresca 133: Crookham, Ayala, Byrd, Ono 141: Mendez, Hardy, Blaze, Vombaur 149: Henson, SVN, Watters, Swiderski 157: Shapiro, Kasak, Taylor, Blaze 165: Mesenbrink, Caliendo, Lockett, Steed 174: Haines, Facundo, Kennedy, Wask 184: McEnelly, Ferrari, Welsh/Ryder, Norman 197: Barr, Merrill, Ferrari, Little 285: Bastida, Trumble, Keuter, Taylor
  14. Not sure what happened, but he just hasn’t developed. Can’t finish a leg attack, no scrambling ability, and doesn’t have a killer gas tank either.
  15. As an OKST fan, I would donate a lot to an NIL fund in order to NOT have to watch Carter Young wrestle another match in the cowboy singlet.
  16. I didn't have him going 0-2, but I definitely didn't have him on the podium. I didn't even have him in the R12. So I'm sure there's others like me. This is what I meant by Tom's loyalty to Kharchla. His loyalty to Kharchla (and not giving Rocco a fair chance to win the spot) cost him a national finalist. It was well known back in December Rocco was unhappy about being FORCED to RS and wanted out. Sorry, it SHOULD be.
  17. Tom Ryan lost an NCAA finalist because of his loyalty to a dude that went 0-2 at NCAAs. That is a fireable offense at a school like tOSU.
  18. Yea I'm not affiliated with the NCAA in anyway. I just know what WrestleStat reported.
  19. According to WrestleStat, he wrestled in 2021 (free year), then medical in 2022, then RS in 2023, then Olyshirt in 2024, then this year he used his first year of eligibility.
  20. I will say, what full circle moment it would be if he went back to OSU and won 3 more title to close out his career as a 4xer all for OSU.
