  1. No idea, but the guy speaking is wearing AJ1’s…. and the chick in the front holding an umbrella looks pretty cute… she should probably ditch these losers and just look for a sugar daddy.
  2. Many were arrested and charged before much of any evidence gathering took place. They were then held without bail while the prosecution made their case, more often than not, downgrading the charges (i.e. the government overcharged without evidence to justify holding without bail). Hell, some of them have taken a plea deal, served out their sentence, then the prosecutor sent new evidence to their attorney, which should’ve been part of discovery.
  3. Those fresh off an Abbott bus wouldn’t know to hold out for more… They’ve also come out in saying they prefer the jails to the shelters set up for them in Chicago.
  4. What say you about the January 6 protesters who’ve been sitting in jail for two and a half years without bail?
  5. To be fair, the 8th amendment prohibits excessive bail… this is to protect citizens from the State… just like the 2nd amendment… neither should be abrogated.
  6. This is right up Soros’ alley.
  7. … Congressional revenge porn? … Message board bipartisanship? … Feeding congresspeople to bears?
  8. Does FL just have set bail amounts for each type of offense, like it’s $1000 for battery, $500 for DC, etc? That might be how it is here with misdemeanors, and if you don’t post bail immediately, you’ll get a bail hearing and the PD will ask the judge for reduced or signature. Bail/bond is set at arraignment for felonies, but can only take in account ability to pay and likelihood of showing up, but all charges, even multiple murder, must receive a cash bail amount (no “held without bail”).
  9. We’re… gonna… need… more bears.
  10. Most bail is based on one’s ability to pay it, and it is set at a level that makes it meaningful enough for the accused to show up to court and not have to forfeit it. When one has strong ties to a community, it’s often a signature bond- bail set at an amount (but not collected) that the person only has to pay if they jump bail. If the person has an affinity for jumping bail, usually, increasing cash bail is required, though, it doesn’t often stop that person from continuing to jump bail until they are remanded. This is when you read about a murder suspect being arrested while they were out on bail after being arrested for bail jumping on a previous weapons charge.
  11. I know… I’m just being a courteous conservative and offering up the first sacrificial lamb.
  12. Can we, as a wrestling message board non-wrestling topic community, in a show of bipartisanship, agree that if Congress was on Survivor, we’d all hope MTG to be voted off first… or be eaten by a bear?
  13. Yeah, but when you see a bunch of trees, you don’t think, “Man, these people really care about the environment.” Seeing a forest of wind turbines, on the other hand, you know they care.
  14. This could backfire tremendously on those who thought cashless bail would be a good thing to keep people out of jail while awaiting trial. Before, even if someone continuously violated the terms of their release, the judge would have to keep offering a cash bail. Now it sounds like without a cash bail option, judges’ only option is to remand the accused if there is sufficient reason to believe they won’t show up to their court dates and/or they will continue committing crimes (i.e. multiple bail jumping offenses in the past).
  15. Damn, being bilingual and that proficient in English, they should have no problem getting jobs… In Chicago, they could make $40/hr with full benefits DOE… or are you telling me these people have no clue what the signs they’re holding say, but rather some white people made them and paid these people $12/hr to stand there holding them?
  16. That guy puts a hell of a lot more effort into his posts than I care to… and I’m not an Illinois guy… nor do I blog.
  17. I was going to make another user name and just post TDS comments, but I see you beat me to it.
  18. I listened to the Lex Fridman Podcast with RFK Jr. today, and, man, he sure does hate Fauci… this is sort of paraphrasing from memory, but pretty close to part of the exchange: Lex: Do you think there is anything good that Anthony Fauci has done in his time at NIH? RFK: Well, I’m not going to sit here and bash the guy. That’s not what I want to do, but I can’t come up with anything. Maybe somebody could tell me of some beneficial drug that he helped develop, I don’t know, and I could agree with that being a good thing. But I do know he did a lot of harm in his position. Lex: So do you think Fauci intended to do what’s best? He thought he was doing… RFK: No, Fauci is a terrible human being. (This last one is the actual quote)
  19. Oh, I know this all too well. My dad does this (including typing www.)… he’ll also keep typing the full word he’s searching for, long after it pops up as a suggested search… however, I don’t think boomers even use Twitter.
  20. The opposite is true of women.
  21. Are we Barbie?
  22. Makes sense. I only took on finance class in college, and I usually slept in it after I finished my breakfast (damn 7:45am lecture). I’d imagine Musk would buy up their stakes at those prices if they were willing to sell at them. This is basically like the guy who has his house assessed at $200k, wouldn’t sell it for less than $400k, but still uses his $200k assessment price when negotiating to buy another house in the neighborhood for his daughter.
  23. Not that anyone’s asking me, but why not UAE? Americans get a free visitor visa when they arrive, and it’s a surprisingly affordable place to visit.
  24. I just hope he writes a book about his philosophies… then it gets put on Audible, so I’ll actually “read” it.
