  1. So were a dozen other music videos, tv shows, movies. It’s a popular shooting location outside of Nashville… I suppose the TV show Hannah Montana could’ve been subliminally condoning lynching to tweens.
  2. This was interesting, coming from a Stanford researcher who the woke mob tried to cancel for her views on radical Islam (she’s Muslim):
  3. Obviously, the Taylor Lautner playing a teenager time has long passed. It is weird, because it was getting quite a bit of press, then poof… nothing ever said again. It’s too bad, though. It would’ve been a huge hit for teenage girls (Twilight fans), and, in turn, the boys who are chasing after them. If done right, with respect to wrestling, it could’ve been a boost for the sport.
  4. $14M budget, already grossed $105M, and it’s showing week over week box office gains pretty much every day…. Meanwhile, Disney is bracing for a nine-figure loss on Indiana Jones. Sooner or later, corporations will start recognizing the buying power of the other half of America, because that half has certainly learned how to use it as of late. The left wants corporations to “take a stand,” while the right just wants them to shut the F up and do their jobs.
  5. Why does he walk with his fists clenched like that all of the time? Answer: Dementia
  6. Apparently, they just need to learn to use a VPN when placing bets from their locker room.
  7. Nah… just playing the choke-out game. Blame TikTok.
  8. Obviously the remake with Taylor Lautner never got off the ground… https://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/new-moon-actor-taylor-lautner-talks-star-remake-vision-quest-article-1.434706
  9. Depends on if he can procure a steady supply of clean piss… probably regrets abandoning his daughter right about now.
  10. Why should we care what your wife’s siblings think? Are they lawyers? The prosecutors probably didn’t want the hassle of dealing with endless court filings by Hunter’s lawyers and likely having a personal and professional smear campaign waged against them had they not offered a favorable plea deal. It’s just better for everyone involved to slap him on the wrist and part ways.
  11. Technically, it was a run-on sentence.
  12. Yeah, but she didn’t steal from the taxpayers like Hunter did… That’s literally 10’s of millions of victims… and maybe his tax money was the specific money that was supposed to help special needs puppies and kittens find forever homes. Ever think of that? Didn’t Hunter (or was it Beau’s wife?) throw said gun in the trash outside a school, then the Secret Service went and retrieved it from the local cops and told them to forget about it? Or is that just a sensationalized version of a true story? So many crazy things surrounding that guy, it’s tough to know what to believe.
  13. Prosecutors are looking to give the mom of the 6-year-old that shot his teacher in Virginia 18-24 months in prison for the exact same gun crime to which Hunter pleaded guilty (she lied about smoking weed on her gun background check). Sentencing isn’t until October, so we shall see. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna88953
  14. Geez… You see that “?” at the end of the sentence? That little guy there means I asked a question, not made a statement or any implication. Stick to what I said. None of the people charged with these crimes has ever been a President, nor a leading Presidential candidate for a major party, so all precedence goes out the window. I also believe the Secret Service has more say than you’d think. It was them who negotiated the terms of surrender and the manner for which the processing took place in New York (almost everyone gets cuffed, without exception, but Trump didn’t). Even with electronic monitoring, the Secret Service would likely raise serious security concerns. It’s equally insane that the FBI buried Hunter’s laptop and refused to indict Hillary because they supposedly didn’t want to interfere with those elections, which just so happened to be against Trump. Do I believe it’s all a big conspiracy? I don’t have to. The appearance of corruption is just as damaging as actual corruption. It’s like if someone has 20 shell companies and makes complex monetary transactions from foreign sources through them; it doesn’t matter what the reason for it is, because it just looks shady on its face. That being said, I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know much in the grand scheme of things... It’s mostly speculation and somewhat informed opinion, but it is fun to discuss this stuff and read different perspectives of real people (not paid shills). I never get worked up over politics on here, and, half the time, I’m laughing as I shoot off a post just imagining some of the other posters fuming about it on the other side of the interweb. I honestly don’t care what happens with Trump or Hunter or the Big Guy (I just hope he hangs in there long enough for there to not be a President Kamala).
  15. Do you really think the secret service is going to let him be held without bail? Electronic monitoring and/or home detention… maybe, but still unlikely. Really, any condition that limits his ability to campaign will be considered election interference, and I don’t think any judge will want to give that perception. Even for a prosecutor to ask for it could come back on them in the trial and subsequent appeals (if convicted) as evidence of malicious prosecution with the intent to disrupt his candidacy. On the other hand, I could absolutely see a backroom deal being made with all of the prosecutors involved and Trump’s lawyers, where Trump will cease his candidacy and fade from the public eye in exchange for all charges being dropped.
  16. I think that’s something to be expected, given those released on their own recognizance were likely done so based on the low probability they wouldn’t show up for court (I.e. strong ties to the community, no lengthy criminal record, no history of jumping bail, etc.). If signature bonds/ cashless bail were given out willy nilly to 50% and cash bail to the other 50%, it’s highly unlikely that the cash bail would bail jump at even close to the same clip as the cashless.
  17. Reporting on some of their economic woes is hardly speaking ill of China in comparison to what they report on Russia and Putin, even in personal manner, that they never do with Xi.
  18. What corporate news organization dares speak ill of China? Fox is the only one that even feigns consternation of Ukraine. When it comes down to it, if we don’t want other countries f’ing with us, maybe we should stop f’ing with them. We are supposed to provide the moral compass for the world, and we fail miserably on that accord.
  19. No, but to act so offended by their actions while we’re doing much worse is disingenuous at best. Also, where is all the outrage about China’s election interference? What about the Ukraine’s meddling in our politics?
  20. This article is hilarious… damn those fascist computer nerds! https://www.foxnews.com/media/researchers-horrified-decry-rise-fascism-students-send-mocking-responses-woke-survey
  21. The Federal buildings fall under the FBI’s purview, but they certainly didn’t utilize their vast resources (as they did for J6) to bring the perpetrators to justice. Four arrests out of 150+ at the ICE building vs. using credit card receipts, RFI scanners, facial recognition software, cellular geofencing, reassigning agents from investigating child trafficking, etc. to arrest over 1,000 for January 6. ….Not to mention, every “protester” at the George Floyd riots should’ve been arrested for attempted murder, since they were breaking social distancing guidelines at the height of the most lethal pandemic in the history of the world.
  22. Let’s be honest here, the US interferes with foreign elections far more often and at a greater level than Russia. Russia and China are more concerned with sowing division than they are with picking winners and losers.
  23. Yeah, I only recently started to listen to the Fridman podcast, but you’re definitely right about his impressive catalog. I see he has a new one with Yuval Noah Harari, whose books are amazing. I’m glad Spotify went all in on podcasts, though, it’s drastically cut down on my Audible book listening. I make a concerted effort to seek out different points of view and not live in an echo chamber like so many people do by only watching/reading Fox or MSNBC. I see the Facebook/ Twitter algorithms that feed people the “news” and opinions that they agree with as the single greatest reason for the divide in our country. I’ll listen to Jordan Peterson then Sam Harris, and I can see where they’re both coming from with their diametrically opposed but equally intelligent views. There are too many good podcasts to be able keep up with them all (literally not enough time in the day, even if you listen 24/7/365), so I end up choosing them based on the guests (ie, I skip over most comics and mma guys on JRE… but loved the Jelly Roll interview) or subject matter.
  24. We will treat the bears that we feed Congress to like kings.
