  1. I’d have to respectfully disagree
  2. As the incredibly intelligent Ian McKellan said, in the DaVinci Code…”for as long as there has been one true God, there has been killing in his name”
  3. Nobody does a championship parade like The Rats and South Florida. 400,00 strong, and I got to get a couple words with my new favorite rat…The RatKing, Mr Brad Marschand…
  4. Chillin at the Elbo Room, parade starts in about a half hour. Happy Sunday!
  5. 6-7 pages in you are talking about fundraising. I posted in reference to the original topic of the thread. As I’m sure you are well aware, as original topics get 6-7 pages long, they very rarely stay on original topics. I hadn’t read anything about fundraising until just now when you stated I was off topic, so I decided to go a few pages back. I don’t participate in and read through and respond to every comment of every thread. As such it seems, to me at least, the article is very relative to the original topic of the thread.
  6. This article is certainly relative to the topic https://www.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-democrats-want-leaders-focus-101144641.html
  7. Which is what they said at a briefing a year ago, and the year before that, and….. According to OUR intelligence agency they are still at the same 60% they have been for years. I’m sure we can find American officials that agree with Israel. Like Israel there are American officials that want us to go to war with them. For some, war is a money machine.
  8. She was very good in the John Adams series. I aboslutley love that series. Binge it on most Fourth of July's (however this year I'll be partying to Stick Figure and Stephen Marley in Palm Beach....maybe I'll stop by Mar-a Lago ). I thought she was pretty good in Primal Fear as well. I'm with you on Keanu Reeves, but not so much on Kevin Costner. I like his work, although he doesn't really fit in the wide range of characters. Even his character in Tin Cup feels a lot like JFK to me, but I still think he does a good job at what he does. I mean....Yellowstone. Come on!!!
  9. It seems to me the same people who don't want us involved in Ukraine because we don't want to get into WW3, also want to bomb the hell out of Iran, who is closely aligned with Russia and China.....even though Iran is nowhere closer to a nuke that could threaten us than they were years ago, according to our own intelligence agencies.
  10. Yeah I wasn't trying to make a claim for him being at the top of the list, still a whole bunch of actors on what may be my all time great list above him. Just in the context of playing versatile roles, he has played some very wide ranging roles and done very well with them.
  11. I'm not trying to force you what to think, just saying what you think and what fundamentalist whack jobs who like to strap bombs to their chest and kill innocent Americans think, is probably different. Couldn't agree more. History is supposed to teach us lessons.
  12. Honest question, not trying to be argumentative but just thinking it through.......do you think the fundamentalist whack jobs who like to strap bombs to their chests really give a damn about my brisket? Trying to wordplay it is all nice and cozy, but to them it doesn't matter. No matter how you try to wordplay it, the fact is your scenario is American weapons flown by American pilots, and that's all the fundamentalist whack jobs who like to strap bombs to their chest would see. Just sayin...
  13. Some people sure do like to be angry around here.
  14. Bradley Cooper has played a wide range of characters. From the snotty prick in Wedding Crashers to the drunken musician in A Star is Born, and a lot in variance in between.
  15. Yes, because this is something that is very very rare for someone to do. My first thought when I saw this this morning was how ridiculous it is this is top line news.
  16. To be fair, she went away from any competitors before doing this celebration. There is a difference between celebrating and taunting. This was obviously a celebration between her and her father. I see no problem with it. The much much bigger problem is the race officials putting hands on her. No no.
  17. Some fun stories coming out of the first day of celebration: First and foremost were the Panthers drinking and dancing in the locker room to the Oilers self claimed victory song... Next was Captain Sasha Barkov taking the cup back out to the arene at 1:30am and holding it up to celebrate with the arena employees who were still there cleaning up the seating areas. Then at 5:00 in the morning, Barkov walking around his neighborhood with a couple teammates, ringing on some doorbells so neighbors could have a few minutes with the Cup (apparently this was by request) The team starting to show up at the Elbo Room at around 7am yesterday to party with the crowd that was already gathered. So far there is already a crack in the bowl and dent toward the bottom of the Cup. I'm guessing the players may finally be sleeping. To my best knowledge it has not taken its swim in the Atlantic yet.
  18. I believe it is the growth of ‘media’ and internet that has increased and intensified the lies. Before that the main way constituents knew what you were up to was by the record of your vote. Now far less people pay attention to that because they have their reps on the web and social media telling them what to think every day and what they should be mad at. That’s how you get votes these days, much more so than by the actual work you do.
  19. They won because of their depth. I believe the final number was 20 players scoring goals in the playoffs, but where the depth really comes in is mostly outside of the stat lines. They won because their third and fourth lines were significantly better than any other team, there was absolutely zero drop off in the smothering game they play from the top line down to the fourth. Edmonton has the best player on the planet with McDavid, and the one-two punch with Draisaitl is as good as it gets. Edmonton evolved their team from last years runner up finish to try and match Florida depth, and they did a good job of it. But Florida's was still too much. Up and down the bench they just simply wear you down.
  20. 50 years old, originally from Indiana but now residing in South Florida. I've worked in athletics my whole life, in administration the past 16 years and have been coaching wrestling at the HS and college levels for the past 28 years. Next year my youngest graduates HS and will be my last year coaching. I've enjoyed every bit of it and owe a lot of my philosophy in life to the sport, as well as the ability to get through a lot of life's challenges. The biggest being the beginning of '24 when I lost my wife to cancer. It was a very rare and aggressive form that she battled with a spirit and determination that was truly awe inspiring, constantly with a smile on her face. But in the end it only took about 18 months to be too much. It was during those days of sitting next to a hospital bed or laying in our bed while she slept that I came across this board, and started posting, in a manner that probably was more of a vent for me than anything else. But from the day we got the diagnosis I made a point to choose grateful over anger, and it's still something I hang onto a year and a half later as we continue to move forward. Kayaking is probably my most enjoyable activity. Lots and lots of options here along the coast, absolutely beautiful scenery. This time next year will be interesting as for the first time in in 23 years I will be neither a school dad or a wrestling coach. I took a job with my City's athletics department about six years ago to finish out my career into retirement. Have lived in this town for 20 of those years and plan to move out of town at that time while keeping my role with the city. It's truly going to be a completely new phase. As for my principals....well......around here at the beach things have really changed. These days you look around and women are walking around exposing 95% of their bodies. I try to remain a gentleman, and only focus on the covered parts.
  21. Clark does take a bit of a beating, however she does play a heated, mouthy, cocky game. Sometimes you reap what you sow. Regarding Griner, 1) I don't like that she was traded for a murderer....not at all; 2) "Drug addict".........okay 3) I won't get into arguing about what she actually said, I'll leave it up to people who want to get mad, but since we can't 100% ascertain what she said without the audio, we can take in the context of the situation, which was that she fouled out of the game by fouling Natasha Howard, a black girl, and not Caitlin Clark. Howard then went to the line to shoot her two free throws. I'll leave the rest to ya'll to be mad. “OutKick should never be allowed around the WNBA”: Natalie Esquire rips into reporter who questioned Brittney Griner about Caitlin Clark slur
  22. We can now make that four out of five. Rasta be parading this Sunday...
