Dems have no leaders. Even they know it.

That is just stupid. You’re talking out of your a** more than normal with this whole line of posts. -
Actually it is not factually incorrect. And yes you are saying what I'm suggesting, by stating that aid being withheld from Republican areas being false rumors is factually incorrect. When in reality, aid being withheld is what is factually incorrect. If you would dig into stories instead of running with whatever gives you warm fuzzies, you would have learned that: Yes the state of Florida did sue the FEMA administrator for withholding aid for political reasons based on this event. The suit and investigation ran through the end of the Biden administration, and the beginning of the Trump administration. The conclusion......just about five weeks ago.....was that there was absolutely no findings that FEMA as an agency did or had any intention of withholding any aid to these areas, the suit was settled without any fault or punitive damages, and dropped against FEMA the agency, while still pursuing the claims against the individual. The acting head of FEMA at the suits conclusion, who was appointed by Trump, even stated that field officers are receiving extensive training that political affiliation has no bearing in rendering of assistance. So no, his first point is not at all factually incorrect. One bad actor does not a broader policy make. Hard stop.

I’d take issue with the article placing the increase in death and destruction on climate change. Or at least solely on climate change. It’s not like some of the most recent storms top the list of strongest storms in history. A big part of the issue is we are building more and more and more on the coastlines. The city I live in has been hit hard the last few years. But it’s a city that they literally had to haul in dirt and build hundreds of miles of canals to make it livable. More and more preserves and mangrove areas are being torn down to build living space. Putting a lot more homes and a lot more people in the path. I’m not bi***ing, I’m one of them. I wasn’t born here, I moved here. My house got almost completely destroyed in Ian, but I rebuilt and stayed put. Irma 8 years ago hammered us. Milton last year made landfall 30 miles north, did a lot of damage again. Still stayed put. (For one more year). More houses are going up in my neighborhood. It’s just the unarguable reality of things around here.

He actually entered legally in ‘22. He became illegal when his visa expired this year. ICE missed one. -

Good guys kicking arse in battles of Florida

The rematch is set, once again we have the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers squaring off for the cup. Last years series was one of streaks, Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Edmonton stormed back to force a game 7…and the first six games weren’t really that close until Florida capped it off with a 2-1 win to take home their first Lord Stanley. This is an intriguing matchup. Connor McDavid has separated himself as the best skill player in the NHL, and the Oilers tooled their off season seemingly purposefully for Florida’s game. They went after puck handling and defending the net before the puck gets to the net. Florida is absolutely swarming in the defensive and neutral zones and often creates turnovers in those spaces that lead to their own crafty scores. They have a punishing forecheck when getting to their offensive zone and have players all over the ice who can score. (20 Panthers have found the back of the net in this playoffs, at one point 14 different players scoring 14 consecutive goals.). Edmonton has no lack of depth as well, however they will be playing without their best wingman Zach Hyman, who suffered and injury in game 4 of the WCF and will have surgery. Edmonton has the home ice, but Florida has been absolutely killer on the road. Save for the first two in Toronto second round, Florida has won every road game of these playoffs, including all three series clinchers, and all in dominating fashion. My pick, and obviously a homer one but with a little analysis behind it, is that Florida finally gets it done on the home ice and wins this one in 6. Game 1 Wednesday night, it’s gonna be a good one. -

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5324368-trumps-qatar-jet-deal-pentagon/amp/ Some pretty interesting updates coming out the last 24 hours, a few points that stood out to me. (These points are being reported by a number of of media outlets) The plane has not yet transferred ownership as there are some legal and paperwork matters to be settled. One of note, unfortunately for Sen Mullin and some of our hook line and sinker friends on here, is Qatar’s insistence on acknowledgement that it was the Trump administration who sought out and initiated this deal, and they have nothing to do with whatever happens to the plane after this Presidential term. (I had asked a while back how exactly this deal is saving us tax payers money, haven’t seen anything whatsoever to verify that, seemingly it is very very much the opposite) It is anticipated to cost around 1 billion dollars to have this plane ready for Presidential use. Not only is it a matter of the technology required, but there are also a number of general maintenance issues that are not up to par and need improvement. Due to all the work needed, it’s likely not going to be ready before the two Boeing’s already on order, possibly not even ready before the Presidents term is up. The plane is in the US, but work cannot begin until the above mentioned legal and paperwork matters are settled. Interesting.

Roller coaster couple days for Florida hockey fans. Winning one championship is hard, winning two in a row is extremely hard, three-peating is rare feat, and four in a row is virtually unheard of in today’s sports world. That fate fell on our Everblades Tuesday night as they fell at home in Game 6 and was eliminated by Trios Rivereis one round shy of their fourth straight Kelly Cup final. Was a hell of a run and will be interesting to see how they bounce back next year. But we’re grateful for their exciting brand of hockey. Last night the Panthers traveled back to Carolina up 3-1 in their conference final, and we finally got the kind of game we’ve been Expecting all series. Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead in what was a very intense, physical, back and forth slugfest. Florida would dominate the second to go up 3-2, before Carolina hit the net first in the third period to tie it up. But a very slick move by captain ‘Sander’ Barkov set up the go ahead goal, and Sam Bennet added and empty netter to give the defending champs a 5-3 win and 4-1 series victory. It’s the third straight Stanley cup final for the Panthers, and the second year in a row they refused to touch the prince of Wales trophy at presentation….they have bigger fish to fry. Six straight years now the Wales trophy has resided in Florida, we’ll see if the Panthers can match their sunshine rivals by winning it all back to back. -
A lot to unpack here in this small but highly intuitive post of yours, bare with me as I surely don’t want to disappoint you any further: > “the most vocal”….within this 7 page thread, combined with the others on this same topic, I have commented exactly, wait for it, one time. Meanwhile you have others that sit here and spend all of there days going on and on and on, over and over again. I guess I’m just curious where you include me in the ‘most vocal’ group? Interesting. >kind of going along with that, you waited one hour, according to the time stamps, to make such a comment. Please understand I believe our differences make our country, and this world, the beauty that it is. I often say if we all thought and acted the same, the world would be a pretty boring place. Going along with that, I understand that some folks have nothing better going on or to do than to sit around here and wait for the next post they just have to comment and argue on. But that is another group I am not a part of. Both in the context of spending all of my days here looking to argue or come up with ‘gotcha moments’ to achieve some kind of inner warm fuzzy…nor in the context that I feel I need to comment and argue every post laid on here. Just not my thing, but at the same time don’t want to judge those that do have such goals. > finally, if you would have read, and been able to comprehend, the one post I’ve made on this topic…you will find that ‘what I think about them folks’ is very clear, I made it very clear in that one post I made. They have committed some horrible, inhumane atrocities. They are evil. The post you quoted does not deviate from that. I know that’s a lot for you to read, but as I said I would hate to disappoint you any further. Don’t feel better now?

Both sides bare significant responsibility for how much of a cluster f**k it is over there, pretty much on a 1:1 ratio. Both have committed horrible completely inhumane acts against the other. And it’s been going on for 100+ years. Neither is right in the history of Israel/Palestine. Many a many of nation have tried to find a way to peace, many administrations of many nations. It hasn’t and isn’t going to happen. I liken it to drug counseling. You can be the best drug counselor in the world, but if the addict doesn’t want it, you’re not going to be able to help them. They don’t want it. Both wants to eliminate the other. It’s been going on for so many generations it is engrained in the culture. Much like never trusting the government is engrained in our culture, because it was a root cause in the beginning of our nation as the United States. (And before some of you get your panties in a bunch, no I’m not making an argument that we should fully trust our government.) My only strong opinion of the Israel/Palestine conflict is that we should stay the f**k out. Our involvement has served us nothing but harm. Do business with the region and Arab nations, yes….its just smart business particularly in today’s global climate. But being involved in any fashion with their conflicts, no. Stay the f**k out. Let them do them. They are not a global threat if we just let them handle their issues their way. Is it atrocious, yes. Would I like to see us promote peace, yes. But….well…the drug addict. I’m glad our president is more focused on Russia than trying to create a beautiful new Palestine. Russia can absolutely be a global problem. Bob Marley said: “if you want to win a revolution you must win with Rasta, you cannot win another way. If you try to win another way you will only be fighting again. But with Rasta there will be no more war”. The ideology of that region of the world could not be further from that mentality.

That's MAGA minion talk. This war has nothing to do with Zalensky needing to go, issues with Zalenky and potential corruption are a different conversation. I mean I for one am pretty sure the guy is a cokehead, but that has nothing to do with this war. This war has to do with Putin decided what's not his should be. Argument could certainly be made that it has to do with the expansion of NATO and it's supposed violation of agreements to end the Cold War...but that argument not only predates Zalensky by decades, it's also an argument that can be countered and really has little to do with Russia illegally invading and taking over Crimea ten years ago, as well as the latest invasion.

Being that he only has one year of eligibility, doesn't it make it less silly to spend that year to focus on that style of wrestling, in one of the best rooms in the entire world?
