  1. Opening dual weekend and usually around the first or second weekend of February, they look like crap. Then they come out and pistol whip everyone in January and March. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Agreed. I haven’t seen anything that suggests he beats Carr in folk. That said, the signs I’ve seen so far are very, very positive. He’ll see three top 10 guys right after the new year. That’ll show where he’s at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. In his post match interview for the Ridge Riley award, Starocci called Mesenbrink a “psycho” on the practice mat. He meant it as a compliment. Context: Truax and Mesenbrink as practice partners. Carter has wrestled all of the above many times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just watched Mesenbrink’s match. That kid is a terror. PSU kids generally have good motors. But Mesenbrink is going at a rate that most can’t match for a period, let alone the entire match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Two weeks after Brooks dunks on the returning NCAA finalist at the weight, he’s ducking Beard. Well done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. He hasn’t progressed and looks huge for 165. Might have a higher ceiling at 174. Not a super deep weight this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I’m guessing a flu is hitting the team right now. Wonder if Kasak weighed in light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. No SVN. Kasak. Purportedly no Mesenbrink or Claw at 165. No Truax or Ball at 184. Barr? No Brooks. Not sure who will go at 197. AJ Fricchione, I presume? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Mark Manning still walks this earthly plane, does he not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. He made Mesenbrink look very small.
  11. I could see him sitting a Starocci or Kerk type guy. They’d get in a better day’s work at an NLWC practice with Nolf or Varner, respectively. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. He also teched him, previously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Crookham looks like a dude that is pulling a gigantic amount of weight. If they start at 125, he might be looking a bit rough, that soon off the scale. Hines, unless he can control himself, will put him right in Bartlett's counter-attack wheelhouse. This could be a 4-2 match or another MD for Bartlett. Brooks could MD Beard, too. I expect bonus at 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, 197 and 285 if everyone goes. I could also see PSU training through this and maybe looking a bit sloppy.
  14. I think Penn State might get more than 1.4 points out of Mesenbrink. Just a guess, though.
  15. I don't know how anyone who wrestles from the knees isn't immediately banged for stalling.
  16. Crookham/Nagao, Hines/Bartlett, Brooks/Beard. Or, will McGonagle go up to 141 and Hines to 149? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I know this was said in jest, but I know that Cael was pretty displeased with the new scholarship rules as it means he can’t get books for his walk-on kids. I think it’s minimum 20%, or nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. So, this is OT but I haven't seen the name brought up on this board before: What is Duane Goldman's reputation? He opened up a wrestling club here in town (Colorado Springs) and seems to be one of the few clubs around. My son is only 3 and I don't plan on letting him start for a couple years. But, still want to do my due diligence.
  19. If Casey Cunningham is the ISU coach, they win that dual. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. He can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Will Dresser do the Dresser Bump, and send out Feldkamp at 197, and Naakgteboren at 184? Seems like a great way to secure some extra, likely points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. @AgaveMaria is the crazy uncle at every Thanksgiving dinner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Moriah, guaranteed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. He had no problem with Cassella, who looked huge. Hamiti is a different problem set, of course. I don’t think Hamiti has ever wrestled a 165lb guy that gets to the leg so quickly. If he can avoid cradles and can get out from bottom, I think Messenbrink wins that one by 4-6 points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Wyatt looked a bit hurt, but Kerk’s foot speed looked much improved. Like, a lot faster than last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
