Fail to see the relevance. Vito may win two titles to Carter’s likely 4. 4-3-1-X Again, the only two current wrestlers who should be mentioned in the same conversation as Carter re: Folkstyle wrestling are KOT and AB. People who both have the chance to win 4. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Amine isn’t in the same universe as Carter Starocci. Mike Amine should just STFU. Cam Amine shoudn't be mentioned in the same thread as Starocci. The only remotely comparable people are KOT and Carter's own teammate, Aaron Brooks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You need to look at their individual records. As an example, WrestleStat records a MFF to Starocci as a non-bonus win.
Of the 7 matches he's actually wrestled, he has 4 TFs and 3 Falls. No MDs, no DECs. 100% bonus.
Whereas Hendrickson has two actual DEC wins (Dawson, NDSU and Ghadiali, Campbell), and they record his bonus rate being equal to Starocci's, when it's not.
A 1-loss KOT would have to be seeded over an undefeated MM based on quality wins, and would likely still be ranked ahead of him, maybe by two places, in the coaches poll.
I’ve never seen a team trainer with so much involvement but Dan Monthley has a remarkable touch with his right foot on a challenge brick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I watched him barely survive the vaunted Max Brignola, whose coaches probably should’ve tossed a challenge brick for neutral danger when Shapiro was straight up cooked. That was two weekends ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He would absolutely melt Shapiro. Shapiro gasses badly against guys not known for pace. Mesenbrink would have him falling over by the end of the 2nd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For better or worse, I think that if Carr and KOT split, the seeding committee, via coaches ranking, will still have them 1 and 2. KOT’s body of work (including a win over him at dual or B12s) and a Carr win KOT should earn them both a bit of deference over the field. MM simply won’t have resume to match that. Going undefeated at 165 in the B1G isn’t the same as Carr going whatever and 2, with a loss to KOT (theoretical), a win (theoretical) and Ramirez loss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m suggesting that Bekzod likes to compete. Even when he’s not in the best shape. Thus, his various appearances at 79 and 86kg over the years. Anyone who takes a medal at Yarygin is in great shape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, Caliendo and Hamiti can do to slow Mesenbrink.
Hamiti presents a different set of threats than most guys Mesenbrink has faced, namely, he's super long and might be able to put a ride on Mesenbrink.
Caliendo will likely try to go a very different route, get his hands on him and bully him. Catch any bad shots in a front head and burn time. Not sure that will work.
I think it’s the weight class where kids are most impacted by the cut. I hate to diminish their skills but sometimes it looks like it’s basically about who ate one less donut that week and feels better off the scale. But they are so unpredictable that the randomness has to come from somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Might as well get this one fired up. My predictions: 125: PSU 4-0 133: PSU 7-0 141: tOSU 7-3 149: tOSU 7-6 157: PSU 10-6 165: PSU 14-6 174: PSU 18-6 184: PSU: 21-6 197: PSU 25-6 285: PSU 29-6 I could actually see Rogotzke beating Truax. And, Nagao is sick, and could easily give up a big move to Bouzakis if he’s not on. I could also see Penn State blanking Ohio State if Bartlett’s counter game is solid, and D’Emilio isn’t great. The problem is this: You can’t kill an idea. You can kill them at 100 to 1, but that might just help them recruit. Hell, not even “might”, it does. One thing that might actually be effective is destroying the Iranian navy, in port. And then completely blockade their illicit oil sales, and destroy their oil terminals. Pain. Unfortunately, despite this deal being a cash cow of gigantic proportions, it’s not going to result in any new sports being added at those schools, IMO. Now, would they have a hard time recruiting at USC? Hell no. They’d have plenty of kids wanting to go there. But most Olympic sports just aren’t worth it for most schools. My dad is a Penn State grad and is clamoring for an excuse for my parents to go to SoCal, catch a game and stay at my aunt and uncle’s house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
